It was great up until the first stop...

I think you're expecting too much. Cops were involved, and forced richie to play a hand that he probably did not / no one would want to play. there were too many people and too many cops. so split up. next time make a better decision and follow some of my fellow westsiders. we stuck together, some people were smart enough to follow us, and crank mob continued until 6 am.
as fuzz said, it was like two crank mobs in one night.. big giant crazy too many people CM, and then secret mob with funderstorm playing for nearly an hour, and the soundbike raging all night. all in all, richie/paul/etc whomever else was involved made a very unforgetable night/great time.

All this could have been avoided if they posted the route. Last year they posted the route and it seemed to work out.
Follow a westsider or you lose is a big fail for a ride so big.

Really glad I skipped this now. It seems like all these giant rides turn out to be huge cop fests.
I've noticed a lot more people were upset them satisfied with Crankmas.
That's too bad. But now you have proof that something once fun can get too big and
destroy itself.

Wet blanket. Not sure what that means but if they wanted a huge ride to be successful meaning all the participants complete the entire ride then the really should have thought of shit. Richie said follow crank mob on Twitter but only posted up until the first stop at Ross.
You can't control everything and cops and fuck ups make the ride even more unpredictable but like I said last year the route was posted and it. Seemed to work out.
If they only wanted crankmas to be a westside circle jerk in the first place they should have kept it on the down low.

people didn't leave because it was over they left because it was a clusterfuck. i left on the first stop because i didn't feel like dealing with that shit when i could be home where it's warm. telling people the ride was over when it wasn't, was a dick move. It wouldn't have been an issue if, people were told why the ride as a *whole* couldn't continue. If he couldn't handle large crowd he should have owned up to it. there is no shame in doing so.
What happened last night doesn't excuse the leader from anything. it's easy blaming the cops and too many people, if he wasn't expecting many people which wasn't the case. Since when was a police presence an issue?

I was expecting to go all night so I could take the metro back to Pasadena when it openned in the morning. Instead, I ended up wandering around Venice alone at 5am not knowing where I was going, when I finally met up with my friend. Then his bike got jacked.

Richie intentionally split up the ride just to lose a bunch of people in the middle of nowhere, just so his fellow westsiders could jerk each other off at Pan Pacific Park till 6 in the morning. Wow you are upset! it's a bike ride. The cops broke it up. Do you always get this pissed off when you don't get invited to the after party? Lay off Richie, what's he supposed to do? Keep the ride going when there's cops in riot gear? So a bunch of people slipped away to continue the fun. It's not like every group there couldn't have done the same.

You see with your own eyes how people make their own fun. When the fun killers come to breAk up the ride then form your own smaller scale fun parade and continue to have a blast. Imagine a ride of 2000 being broken up into squads of 50-100 people continuing on there own adventures in fun. The fun killers will lose everytime.

the point is just this, if you are your sister was on a ride and they were heading through east LA or Compton in the middle of the night and they got a flat while lagging in the pack, if they looked over and saw a "Jaywalker" tag on the frame next to them they would get home safe! I announced it at the start and made it perfectly clear what the nights intentions were and what rules to follow to keep the Police working with us.
The ride ended at ROSS for a few reasons. So many riders riding into oncoming traffic was one, and the largest factor was the amount of complaints. Since meeting in a large group of people without a permit is considered an "Unlawful Assembly", the complaints outweighed their leniency with us and had to take action. We were threatened with a "Dispersal Order/Order to Disperse". We had 15 minutes to clear out. I people took too long, the riot police would physically start herding people out of the space. If anyone resisted they would be arrested, sit in jail for a few hours for the booking process, then be hit with a misdemeanor for not obeying the dispersal order.
So YES. The ride OFFICIALLY ENDED at ROSS.
I was also informed that if i continued the ride as a whole or met up again, that arrests would be made. I chose completely ending the ride at that point as to not risk REALLY ruining someones night.
I then announced for everyone to continue the crankmas spirit and sorry for the short ending.
I went home, dropped of my bike, changed clothes and met up with my friends that wanted to keep partying. We continued the party and i sure as hell know that you don't need ME nor anyone else to make your night a good one. SO, don't blame me for your lack of entertainment. That just comes across as selfish.
@jaywalker - i don't know anyone who went to PPP... So not sure where you are getting your facts from, don't really care, and think it's foolish for you to judge someone on assumptions. You nor your attitude is welcome on CRANK MOB.
