Miracle Mile-New Bev Screening & Ride-

So Joe Dante, director of such fine films as Gremlins and The Howling, is doing his guest programming bit at the New Beverly Cinema starting tomorrow (which includes LOTS of guests and AWESOME shit). On Sunday he has scheduled one of my ALL-TIME favorite films, Miracle Mile. This movie is rad because it can *also* have a ride built around it where you can basically go & visit all the places they go to IN THE MOVIE.
So I was thinking about doing that before I hit up the theater.
Anyone else in for a ride based on a crazy & awesome apocalyptic piece of insane cinema? If so, lemme know. I'd love to have company. If not, please check out the New Beverly's calender (http://www.newbevcinema.com/calendar.cfm)... there's great shit happening, and Joe Dante is a super nice guy, and his programs are always rockin'.
Hope to see some of you there!!!!

Depressing movie with a foreboding tone all the way through it.
I popped in "The Postman" right after watching this one for the first time to get me out of that "ugh" mode.

Yeah....but I love it. *shrugs* what canya do? I like dark shit some times....And I don't think it's that depressing actually, but that's just me. Plus I love the "LA-ness" of it...and now that I ride? EVEN BETTER....Plus, the movie that they're showing with it at the New Bev? Matinee? NOT AT ALL like Miracle Mile. Seriously. I PROMISE. :) :)

If anything, they should at least add a nod to a scene from the movie in some "Day After" type movie.
A scene featuring a roving band of scavengers fighting against a thinly stretched Nat'l Guard/ remnants of LAPD.
Someone gets thrown by an explosion and into the cockpit of the partially-submerged Bell 206 in the tarpits.
