HOLD YOUR FUCKING LINE

i was driving to work today (yes driving to work bc its 43 miles away and i have to be there by 8AM).
guy with a brown/gold hybrid with 700c wheels with some spoke cards in the back wheel riding east on saticoy in van nuys.
as i was approaching slowly to pass you, you looked down towards your crotch area (im guessing you were looking down at ur back wheel) and then started swerving which caused me to swerve and almost take out the car in the next lane.
i gave a light honk and you proceeded to give me the finger.
if you are reading this,
FUCK YOU! LEARN HOW TO FUCKING RIDE AND HOLD YOUR LINE ASSHOLE!
EITHER TAKE THE LANE AND ASSERT YOUR POSITION OR STAY ON THE SHOULDER AND KEEP A STRAIGHT LINE!

Should of honked then flip him off with both hands.

nah, i gave him the "you're swerving" gesture with my hand when i got his attention but still. he responded with the bird.
i think this whole "bike movement" is great and all but fuck man, im tired of people that act like this.
not only are guys like this a huge inconvenience when im driving but theyre even scarier to me when im riding my bike and have to pass up goobers like these.
im glad that the idiot feels empowered by his bike but that doesnt mean he's well coordinated cyclist.

I've actually had similar experiences.... though I havent been flipped off I've seen cyclists ride like they have no idea that cars are on the road and as a driver it's completely frustrating.
I've got an idea for the cycling world. there should be a bicycle riding license. not mandatory but voluntary that costs something reason-able say $25. to get the license you take a course on how to ride in the street and pass it and in exchange you could get access to insurance or legal representation in the case of an accident or a ticket.

i think it's even more frustrating as a cyclist to see idiots like this not paying any attention.
ive driven through tight canyons with riders climbing up at a slow pace and was fine bc these guys knew what they were doing and being safe.
to see someone riding so erratically on a busy street is mind boggling.

I drive a few times amonth for the same reason (lots of camera gear and a laptop) and I have had the same experience with swervy gurvy cyclists.
Ride a straight line and you will get honked at far less and be far less likely to scare the shit out of some well meaning driver.
Realize that most drivers honk at you so that you will know they are close to you. They want to make sure you are aware of their position so you don't swerve into them.
Its the same as a car coming up behind you and saying "On your left".
Most honks are a courtesy not a complaint. Learn to anticipate traffic and reduce the amount of times you make a car brake or change lanes and you will get there just as fast and in a way better mood.
If you want to be treated with respect then realize its a two-way street...... and the drivers have the mechanical advantage if you decide to be a jerk.
This isn't meant to excuse the asshole drivers who hold their horn down for 10seconds cause they dont want to change lanes and go around so you can avoid the door zone on a street full of parked cars.
