Meet Lakota. Regrettably, she's not mine (yet), but she is living at my house for a few months. She's a siberian husky and will be capable of running all day on mountain bike rides once she's a little older. For now, fetching her doll 20-30 times is enough to tire her out.

her face markings make her look super angry and pouty, which is totally cute and funny. She loves that toy!

'cept for her teeth, which are wicked sharp. She's constantly trying to eat my head, which is really quite painful. And my toes.

if anyone has a trailer to loan, we'll bring her on the ride tonight, since it is all within blocks of my house and she loves to meet people.

better yet, its a memorial shocker to my best friend Glen, who was killed on a bike last year. His wife made the stickers ;-)

Great dog, there.
It's good to see some people with love for the big breeds still.
Had myself a St Bernard a few, years back, but had to give her up due to landlord intolerance.
Once I get myself back into a rig though, I'm thinking about getting me another, St Bernard as a pup.
One bad thing about the big breeds is the fact that they don't remain puppies for very long.
We got our Saint at five weeks old, and she was somewhat small.
But, after two months, she was already damn, near full-grown!!!

Huskies aren't so big, really. They top out at about 50 pounds. Not at all like malamutes, which get quite a bit bigger. When people first started racing huskies in north america, they were laughed at because the dogs were so much smaller. The laughing stopped when the huskies started winning everything. Big dogs aren't as efficient as smaller ones, even if they can pull more weight.
I wanted a dog that could go mountain biking with me - something that can run all day and still have fun doing it, and a husky is the perfect choice. Convenient, since I didn't pick the dog. A friend simply announced to me that she had adopted a dog and that since her place was crappy for dogs and mine is much better, she's moving in. Now, she ain't allowed to move out unless she plans to leave her pup behind. No way I'm letting her go, now. I'm in love already and she's barely been here a week.
