I guess I'll be able to become a bit more active in the bike community.

I've always wanted to be able to attend important bike meeting in DTLA at 2pm on a Tuesday. I guess I got my wish.

I think Ill celebrate with taking my 2 year old to bike night at the LADWP Festival of lights tonight..

 Sorry to hear that. Take a few weeks off (assuming you will be collecting unemployment or was granted a severance package) and enjoy your 2 year old. Good luck.

 make sure you get on top of doing the unemployment paperwork. i hear the process can have some pretty long delays.

FWIW, CA is up to 79 WEEKS of unemployment (e.g. 1.5 years), so hopefully you'll have a little time to sort things out.

 file tomorrow, if you wait they wont pay you for the missed days. even though it takes longer, do it over the phone. anyone i know has done it online, has always had it see nt back to them and they had to start over. on the phone they will explain it all and you'll get your money sooner. have fun-employment.
