for a bike. Do you know if they have chips that you could place in one of the tubes on the bike so that when it is stolen all you have to do is look at a receiver and you could go to where the bike is?

I e-mailed trackerradio.com a few months ago asking about this. This was their response:
"It is technically feasible to attach a small transmitter to a bicycle and track it if it is stolen. The costs to do this, however, can be prohibitive unless the cost of the receiver is shared among a group. Typically, a receiver costs upwards of $500 - $1000 (used being the lower end of the spectrum) and the transmitter cost $75 to $150 depending on features."

wow, that is pretty neat. i was thinking about how fantastic that would be to be able to go and pretty much pick up what ever is left of your bike. and or beat the shit out of the guy who stole it that is if your strength permits.

it would be best if the chip was pre-installed in the frame so that it would require cutting the frame to remove it. There is a chance this could be abused however. With this someone could track you just as easily.
