1.
DUDE BRO

White suburban male, usually 16-25 years of age, hailing mostly from Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Characterized by their love for rolling around in lifted (extreme) trucks and their over use of bandanas, black socks with shorts, spikey hair, belts with queer designs and belt buckels, SPY sunglasses, and trucker hats. Favorite bands include Kottonmouth Kings and Kingspade. The most annoying members of the dude bro family are from the 951 and 909 area codes of the Inland Empire of Southern California... but more toned down (and slightly more queer) versions can be found in Orange County (714). Favorite drinks include Budweiser and Bud Light. Catch phrases include: "DUUUUDE!!" and "Bra (Bro)." Dude Bro's seldom roam alone and can usually be found in packs of 5-10 people. Favorite sports include riding dirtbikes and monster truck rallys. Dude bros display a complete lack of originality and can quickly get on one's nerves.

While at a friend's party, my friends and I noticed a big group of dude bros rollin up together. They all looked, talked and walked exactly the same. We should have saw it coming when we saw the caravan of lifted trucks pull up.

really?

Welcome to the infestation that completes the destruction of the former, quiet small town that used to be Victorville.
Like swarms of Z's, these bruh's continually either flock up here with their parents, or sell their suburban palaces "down-the-hill" for false hopes of riding in their own, private desert.
With many original residents choosing not to fight, but flee and an equally, dickless excuse of a sheriffs department that only knows how to enforce revenue-generating, traffic violations on poor folks, these hordes continue to run wild all over the byways of this former, military town.

I've suggested time and time again at the few, local eateries and sporting good shops the only solution to combating the scourge of adrenaline-fueled, cruise-control refraining throttle-stompers:

Let the roads go to complete shit until they're torn out for "supposed maintenance" and let them sit that way for a few years.
Local, longtime residents will get used to it, but the bruh-hordes will essentially burn themselves dry having to dust their precious toys off after each and every romp through the dirt encompassed roads.
Some will flee back down the hill, others will simply die of a stroke when they notice how harder they'll have to scrub that mud-caking from their 4x4(ironic as it is, these vehicles were made for tough environments like that).

One of my friends used to own a raised truck before he moved to Iowa, it was exclusively used for hauling things and driving through actual, off-road terrain.

Anytime we were in it and dude-bruh pulled up next to us at the stoplight, they would always be shouting about "Ya got stick a bigger gun(exhaust) onto that thing, check this one out....brrrrrrr!!!!).
Essentially, they were also impromptu, unofficial, Flomaster exhaust spokesmen.

If you want to be heard from five miles away when you're trespassing on Farmer Browns alfalfa farm to get to the supposed, dunes on the other side of the base, then go on right ahead.

QI've encountered my fair share of bros in my day ... if one had seen me 20+ years ago i might have been pegged for a future bro ... (what with my bad boy club shorts). I went to school with football players that wore sunglasses on their thick necks when they weren't on their thick heads.
I've seen bro bands go from House of Pain to həd, to KoЯn, to the embrace of a band that I used to get dogged by bros for liking in high school The Red Hot Chili Peppers (don't laugh, they didn't go fully bro until well into the 90's and I was in HS in the 80s) and on ...

anyway my real point is this:

from the outside people often look the same.

People new to cycling see similar clothes, similar styles, and similar bikes.

Heck I showed up at a friends house the other day and we were pretty much matching from shirt to shoes. (i blame him since i only have 2 outfits).

I've seen 8 15 yo gwen stefanis at a Le Tigre Show, gay men holding hands that were dressed like twins, yuppie couples in matching Kaki Shorts and Chambre shirts, crews of cholos all in dickies and baggie jeans, "hipsters" wearing foam trucker hats, etc etc etc.

Its easy to look from afar and see other people as all being the same as each other.
We know how different our friends are from us, so we'd never consider ourselves as looking the same ... but to an outsider people in groups are more similar than they are more similar than they are different.

If you changed some of the words in that post like a madlib it could apply to just about anybody.

Embrace your inner Bro ... bro.

@ everyone else

Let me tell all of you something, if you were from out here (the 951), it is extremely likely you would be a bro/bro-ho, too. Even I once had an SRH shirt, long ago. I am guilty of making fun of these people as well, but it is the style out here and seriously, if you grew up here, how many of you can honestly say, without a doubt in your mind that you would have resisted the fashion and never been a bro/bro ho? I can say that because I did it, but it is easy for all you LA people to judge and make fun when if you ever hung out with these people you would realize they are not much different from you. As a matter of fact, from my experience with the MR rides, the only difference between you and them is you pedal your bikes and theirs have throttles.

They all think of you people as stuck up and snobby, and as this thread shows, it is easy to see why.

Yeah, it does sound like MR, but these dudes wouldn't do much except for that, and they all looked like they had a few too many rough nights. It's one thing when it's late at night and the lot isn't being used, but on a crowded day when people are trying to get around them so they can get out and go home it is kinda annoying.

petzljake

Did they at least ride snowboards, or did this shit involve them using snowmobiles and shitty motocross tricks?

If there's any one thing about bruhs, they shun anything without a motor, but they don't even know basic shit like changing a tire, unclogging plugged fuel-lines, and other shit they would probably exhaust mommys AAA tow-points on.

I live in a desert-town infested with these dudes, but oddly enough haven't had any problems with them. Infact, I have a friend who owns a 'BROutique' and I constantly tease him about the stuff he sells and he takes it all with a smile. I think I've seen these dudes beef with each other more than anyone else; most likely for wearing the same Hostility shirt to the bar on the same night, or stealing each other's girlfriends. And if you really think about it, replace that pair of dickie's shorts and bud light for a pair of tight jeans and a PBR you'll most likely end up with one of us. As long as none of 'em try to run me over while driving their Bigfoot knock-off, I could really care less. My only request is that they stop playing so much pennywise on the jukebox.
