Benefit Car wash for Tarsis's mother

My friends Tarsis, Jafet's mother passed away last tuesday so we're organizing a car wash to help raise money for her funeral.
the car wash will take place on washington and orchard
on washington two block east of vermont.
tell people who have cars. spread the word. come help out. we will also be accepting donations.

April 1961 – November 2008
passed away last tuesday due to cervical cancer.
Ileana worked for 17 years in downtown L.A. as a gum & perfume street vendor to support our family.
We cannot afford her burial and ask for your help.

Ah yes I forgot. I'll be there at 10 am but it officially starts at 11 and we'll be washing cars (or bikes) til around 6. if you guys want bring extra buckets, soap, sponges, towels snacks... whatever. spread the word

ladies please remember to get annual pap smears... and guys remind the ladies you love to go and get them... it is no joke.. cervical cancer is caused by HPV which they test for in a pap smear..

here's my suggestion:
MAKE IT A BIKEWASH TOO! CARS AND BICYCLES WASHED for the same cause. THERE'S LOTS OF US THAT DON'Town cars.
I have to work as an entertainer this weekend. depending on how early you start this i may be able to bring my car before I hit the road.
Tarsis, again so sorry about your loss and you have my deepest sympathy. I was balling when i got your e-mail as I thought of my mother along with your pain and terrible loss. Let's not take our mothers for granted while they are still here on earth with us. Call your moms and tell them that you love them everyday if possible.
She was so young, only 47. My grandmother (my moms mom) was only 48 when she was taken from us by breast cancer. and she died to this terrible disease 4 years before my birth. damn!

Tarsis, my deepest condolences on your loss, seriously.
So Brad is you paypal still collecting? Can you post a separate thread with a paypal button on it that will link directly to it. Or post it here. I will contribute. Give us some updates too...we could a) see the good we are showing to the family b) push people to step up if donations are scarce.

I've been doing better, I think i'm in denial. There are just certain times I will get so disoriented I would truly want to believe she's still at the hospital. I went to The Market and certain items would just make me burst out in tears. Its all the small little things. And I can't remember her voice anymore. It'll get better I know it will but I feel an incredible guilt when and if iI smile. Like as if I shouldn't be happy any time soon.
