FRIDAY NIGHT WEST SIDE RIDE ANYONE?
Who on the west side wants to ride a little tomorrow night around 9:30-10pm?
This would be a ride that riders from Santa Monica Critical Mass, smcm boycotters, and all other west-siders without plans would all want to go to because going home at 10pm on a Friday night is only for people who want to be riding at 8am on Saturday with all the crazy lycra dudes going 50mph.
Yes there is RIDE-Arc, but it starts in Chinatown and is 30 miles of climbing. Yes there is Los Angelopes at 2pm the next day, but that doesn't help Friday night at all. Yes you can haz a cheezeburger, and you can haz Tecate too.
Meet at Mar Vista Park at 9:30, ride at 10?

If there is enough interest, I will post the ride up and make a route. Probably 5-10 miles. Plenty of stops. Hopefully music. Hopefully jump rope. Definitely frisbee!
Also if someone has a better start point in mind, let your voice be heard!

Maybe I jumped the gun but it is POSTED
I'm sorry SONNY, you are a cool dude and I wish it made more sense for me to do RIDE-Arc. I know it will be a good time! Hope to see you at Los Angelopes on Saturday afternoon man!
I am hoping that whoever brings the sound system for SMCM is willing to do this ride as well(?)

No way am I going to Ride-ARC either, and since SMCM doesn't (yet) have the required level of F.U.N. mandated by state legislature, I will be participating. Yay westside!

H'mm, if my ass isn't caught dead working around that time, I may be willing to make a trip from the Eastern Bloc to join y'all on the extravagant West.
As for the lycra-jocks going 50mph on their carbon-fiber, cheat-machines, throw a loaded pannier on there and it's going to get rough!!!

Barleye- Not gonna cancel this. I really have no desire to get on my chunky geared bike and I don't want to die on my fixed gear up those hills either. I know RIDE-Arc will be a good ride though! Have fun man!

You can't put panniers on my carbon fiber cheat machine - it has no mount points and the carbon seat and chainstays won't stand up to the load. Nope, you'll have to carry my shit for me, I guess.
Incidentally, Strider, take your Dahon up a hill sometime They climb really well. Those little wheels spin right up in a way big wheels never will. I climb way better on my dahon. I'm taking it to Ridearc tonight, I think.

-I don't think of it as hate, I just think of it as them living with this false, sense of security that they could out-pedal anyone on their chosen rig.
Until I see a speed-demon hop off the OCLV and onto a beach-cruiser to continue the reign of terror, I'll stick to my guns.
