Just reading a bunch of posts online of people who have seen and heard many weird things at this bridge at night. Kind of curios to go and ride over to that bridge one of these days.

What about a good 'ole, covered bridge like in that Madison County movie?
I hear plenty of those are haunted, like the story of going up to it, flashing your lights three times and the ghost of the long dead, hot chick appearing on top of your hood.

I rode my bike out there one day. It's a pretty cool bridge. Ironically it was used in that Lexus commercial where they said "Live a little...a lot". I work with a dude who is a part of the LA Conservancy and he told me that the bridge was built around 1910 give or take a few years (can't remember exactly) and it was named Suicide Bridge during the depression for obvious reasons. I thought it was worth checking out if you're a history enthusiast such as myself. That and I was bored and had that day off so wtf.

I biked out to PCC a couple semesters ago... took that bridge. Really a nice ride. Seen these 2 kids throw a shopping cart over the fence and hit the power lines causing sparks to fly.

We will be stopping at the bridge on the "A Bridge Too Far" ride.
I don't know how fast we'll be going but you can definitely expect to break a sweat. I came up with the route for this ride and lemme tell you: there are a lot of hills (going both ways). The approach via Colorado is one looong climb that starts gradual, keeps increasing, and then gets pretty ugly right at the end. Just look at the elevation graph on the pedometer map.
Anybody who's coming should definitely bring lights too. The portion of Colorado just before the bridge has no street lights and is *single* lane in each direction with no shoulder.

People still jump off this bridge. Just a few years ago a friend of mine ended his life by jumping off that bridge. : ( Yeah, it's definitely got that name for a reason. This thread makes me sad...please...be respectful when you are there....if I was in town, i'd bring chalk so we could write messages to those who've gone. Bring some chalk, and be nice.
