so my bright ass orange bike wants to park in the dtla financial district on a daily basis. do you think 2 U locks are enough or should i go for more if im gonna be down there on a regular, all day basis?
thanks!

Wrap that ish up with black electric tape! You're gonna get lots of attention with that paint job. Make it look as shitty as possible. Plus... With the two ulocks... The theft will most likely (with hope) skip your bike and get something easier. Park it near a cctv and ask a guard if it actually works. If u can get a beater bike then use that... but again... If u have to use your nice bike... Make it look like shit!

Yeah man. Keep looking for another. Oh! Studiodrome a while back posted a pic of a the typical u bike rack on the street that was cut in half right at the middle... And a sticker was used to cover the sliced area. A unknowing rider would lock up to the rack and the thief, lying in wait, would swoop in and pry the rack with ease, slide the bike out and... poof! Just like that... Ninja vanish!

What's your plan on locking the wheels for 50*50? How are you gonna use the two ulocks? They both minis? Use a standard ulock and lock the front wheel to the rear and to the post? Then... Use the sheldon b. method and use a mini for the rear?

I work on 7th & Fig and I lock up at the bike rack next to the startbucks and CPK and have never had a problem. Make sure to lock your wheels and take your lights with you. Also maybe get a cable or spare chain to secure you saddle.

Your saddle may only have cost $5, but the point is riding home without a saddle SUCKS.

i'm guessing you work at this location.
is there any possible way for you to just bring it inside with you?

a beater bike is not less likely to get stolen. there's a thief for every bike.
i've heard of people filling their allen bolts with glue. if you have nice handlebars or a nice seatpost, that will probably slow them down. just make sure you can pick it out if you ever need to adjust something.

flower/wilshire worker here. 2 u locks are plenty. lock in a more conspicuous spot if possible. that bike rack at 7th/fig is tucked kinda outta the way under the bank windows so the thieves could saw away unnoticed.

That starbucks is always filled with people. You'd raise some eye brows trying to break a u lock
