if anyone wanna help out would be nice
So my new project is going to be an Non Profit Organization
having to do with local stores, shops, and so on.
Will built a website for it first.
then i'll be going around Local stores, cafe & bike shops
asking if they would be part of a program that they would give a special discount to any rider that signs up on the website and has they "members discount card"
anyone that signs up for the card won't have to pay anything. at all they just sign up and a few days later they'll receive a Members card
soo how do you know where to get discounts?
SHops will have a Special STicker on their front store window
so all you do is go buy whatever you want show you card and bam
discount.
what do you guys think?
reply
not sure yet.
i will come up with that next.
private organizations?
or maybe i could do a one time $5 fee for the card?

welcome to the world of marketing. something like this can be very difficult to get rolling because you really have to sell the concept to a number of business owners. let's say you have a bike club and you want to create a membership card for use in places your club frequents:
-coffee shops in palos verdes, where you train
-bike shops in santa monica where you live
-gyms close to where you work
you have to sell this to the business owners as a product that will increase their revenue. a common sell would go something like
"this club has a great reputation and a huge membership...this program is awesome...your business's logo will be all over our website...the business you receive with this card will be discounted, but the volume of new customers will make up for that...you're in a recession. you need us...club members will tell each other about the card benefit...word-of-mouth marketing has a far greater payoff than putting up a billboard."
anyway, i think you get the picture. the reason i'm using the bike club as an example is because you have given no information as to what kind of an organization this will be.

and if you're starting a non-profit, you may want to start by talking to a lawyer, instead of the website.

Seems to me that the businesses are going to want something in exchange for handing out all these discounts.

there are a lot of companies that do nothing but solicit discounts from other businesses. Groupon.com is a good example. It's sort of complicated, but the idea is that having a discount or club creates repeat business and buzz.
