Hollywood / east LA routes

I work In Hollywood (sunset and gower) and I'm looking to spice up the old commute without adding too much time. I live near Lincoln park in el sereno (the big lake), really there are only a few reasonable options for me to get home from Downtown to El sereno. I ususally take sunset all the way to Main st and that turns into valley. Sometimes I take cesar chavez. Anyone have a fun trip idea? I guess mostly from Hollywood to Downtown.
THANKS

Here is a site where you can punch in a particular address and it will show you all the roads that you can possibly take in that surrounding area.

or, to put it bluntly, www.maps.google.com.
but who am I to troll? I asked a similar question on here not long ago.

haha. Thanks. I have, Just was checking to see if anyone had one of those "This street is great!" Type of recommendations that I never would have seen otherwise. Sometimes Ill go down western then over to dtown, or vermont down then through Macarthur park.

sometimes it's more fun (and faster) to take side streets.
I like to take Gower down to Melrose, left, Plymouth, turn right, and that street will dump you on Wilshire, but Wilshire sucks, so I would take 6th to downtown, or even 7th.

A nice route from Echo Park to Chinatown is to go left on Beaudry, make the first right (bartlett), follow as it turns to the left, then make the first right on Alpine (over the 110). At figueroa go straight-ish to stay on Alpine (don't get on the freeway or turn right on Fig, basically). Go left on New Depot to College. Turn right and then take to Broadway or Main.
It's nice cause it avoid the Broadway/Chavez intersection and any downhills into (often) red lights if you ride fixed and are lazy.

Is that the one with the awesome Downhill? If so that route rules. I rarely ride it an should do so more.
thanks everyone.
