i really hope there is another part of this ride that is longer than five miles and not during the middle of the day.

That's not the Noche ride, that's a different Day Of The Dead ride. The Noche ride will probably happen on a different night.

can someone please explain how 2007's Day of the Dead ride had over 1000 people on it and 2008's ride had no more than 200 people? Trolls need not reply.

Yeah, it was a lot of things. Being the ride organizer, I also expected big numbers because of the stories I heard of previous years. To this day I still have a ridiculous number of extra spokecards from that ride. I think that it was a number of things. One, it had rained earlier in the day, so people were afraid of rain. Two, people were tired from the ride on Halloween the night before, and three, it wasn't a second Friday ride like it had been the previous two years. Also, the fact that I think more people rode and were interested in riding back then. I mean, there's still a lot of people that do rides, but those years had HUGE rides, whereas now we only get up to like 500 people, tops. It's really just that we have so many rides so often that they aren't as special as once-a-month things.

i dont think there were close to 1000 for the 2007 ride. i think it might have had something to do with starting in that vacant kmart parking lot on fig in highland park.
