decided to start a new thread to not take attention away from braydens
got doored going down hill in sierra madre Wednesday the 23rd at 845 am was taken by ambulance to Arcadia Methodist where they told me i would have to go to a county hospital to get surgery because i dont have insurance. was going at least 20 mph
just got out of county usc yesterday at about 8 pm. was in from Wednesday the 30th until friday the 3rd. also was in there last week over night. broke a rib and pretty much crushed my left elbow. they did surgery put in pins, and bone from a cadavers body to fill in the space. i wall be out of work for a while. they said they would reevaluate it next friday and see when i can go back to work. i also play bass, and my to two favorite things in the world are riding my bike and playing bass. and i am now really worried that it might really affect both. doctors say i may only have three thirds motion in my elbow after this. so im hoping for the best. thanx to everybody who has wished me good luck and given me advise.

I hope you got the insurance information from the door culprit. Their insurance should pay for all your medical bills.
I believe the way cadaver bone works is that that the body will regenerate new bone and eventually eat away at the cadaver bone in the process . Better than using non-organic steel rods that cannot be absorbed by the body.

yeah they said they might cut into my hip and and use bone from there. that would have been more painful but a little less weird. at least if i ever punch someone with my left hand i can blame it on the dead guy jk

You are doing all the right things, getting a lawyer wise.
Man, I have been hit four times by right turning cars, but never doored (fingers crossed). That scares the hell out of me. I end up taking a lane to stay away from the door zone, but I know it only happens when you least expect it.
Heal up and make sure you get some "pain & suffering" dough for missed work and other trouble.

yeah definitely. i usually ride far from the door zone. the car was a newer mustang. they have pretty long doors. and it only caught the side of my handle bars. believe me when i start riding again i will be in the middle of the lane
