Yo - if LACM is gonna have a thread then so should Santa Monica Critical Mass. It is this Friday, and it's always better than 200 strong, usually more like 300. Like I said in the calendar posting - be advised that the SMPD are harassing the ride. It's a good idea not to drink before the ride, especially if you're corking. Don't carry beer if you're underage. There is usually a stop when we get out of Santa Monica so that's a good time to crack a cold one open.

 it was a big fgroup.....i would estimate somewhere around 400....

I LOST A YELLOW BIKE PUMP DURING THE SMCM RIDE ON FRIDAY......

its a silca impero vintage presta bike pump.....its looks like the yellow one in this picture....



please if you found it, picked it up, know where it might be or anything, please let me know...

 Goodluck with finding the pump, I didn't hear anything about one being found though.

The beginning of the ride was kind of lame, being escorted out of Santa Monica, but then again, I didn't hear of any tickets, so that's good.

and yeah it was a pretty nice sized turn out. A cyclist/rapper showed up later into the ride, so we got immersed in music about bike culture coming up.

 It was definitely a strong CM ride. Attendance was about 300... with a lot of fresh faces which was cool.

We weren't exactly "escorted" out of SM. I would say the cops were making a point to harrass us until we left SM. Lame. There were three citations that I heard about.

It was still a really fun night. Apparently a writer for came on the ride working on a piece for LA Weekly. I hope he's got good things to say.

 hey. Santa Monica critical mass is sort of back, and the police aren't even billy clubbing us this time. Next one is Sept 7th. Can someone bring a sound system less shitty than mine?
