because you have to stop every 500 feet in LA
water gets kicked up and picks up debris in the drivetrain
clothes get wet
oil slicks and paint lines and manhole covers
potholes are hidden
you have to brake a lot sooner

Riding in the city in the rain sucks. You really have no idea what is in the water you are getting splashed with. eewwwwwiiee

because they are toy and weak. It's just water and it has not even rained today, just a light mist.

The kind of "rain" we are having today is just a drizzle. They have that 10 months out of the year in "bike cities" like Portland, Amsterdam, Copenhagen.
But we are spoiled, so fuck it.

..also, there are often holes in the frame for bottle cages and such. Be sure to empty the frame of water. That shit will be eaten from the inside out over time.

riding in the rain is like [insert sexual reference here], lots of fun the first few times but cleaning up afterward is always a PITA.

I rode in the rain today. I'm just a bit stumped on what to do with my bike now. I washed off all the road crap and I guess I'll dry it with a rag, but what else?

I don't mind riding in the rain but I only do it when I have to. People forget how to drive when it rains and that makes it dangerous.
