hello, my name is stephen box, and i'm selling bicycling bullshit. what is that? it's smelly disgusting crap that i call rhetoric, of my own blend, that i rely on when people try to create progress and change in this sad saddled city that needs bicycling so badly.
i can't play well and cooperate with people. so, instead, i've created this magical elixir of bullshit that corrupts every positive process into one that feeds my ego. but there's good news for all of you people who are not me out there. my bullshit is for sale. buy some, for the low low price of giving my ego a back rub, and you too can be part of a movement that accomplishes nothing but makes people angry. ANGRY. you'll love it. okay. no, you'll hate it, but at least you'll feel good when nothing gets done because of you. drink it up bitches.

Clearly this is an ironic statement from some douche that does not like Mr Box.

It's an anti-Stephen Box rant. If Stephen Box is pissing off some members of the car community by his bicycle activism and advocacy, then he is making progress. We cannot acquire more bike lanes and implement a Cyclists Bill of Rights without breaking some eggs.

Which is why people need to support the LA Bike Work group and help craft a better plan.
Saturday in DTLA the Bike Group is meeting. Info here:

seems to me like it's another bicycling advocate who wrote that.

While many worship Mr Box others in the bike community find his style arrogant and counterproductive.
That he's more interested in stroking his ego than advancing any particular cause.
For example look at his "coverage" of the recent Council District 2 elections.
He is supposedly trying to educate every candidate on bike issues but what really gives him a boner is to have every candidate say in writing or video "Stephen Box" .

I'm not running for office and neither is Stephen Box.
And you have never voted in your life.
What's your point exactly?
Post another funny picture.

So this Box dude helps the bike community, goes to City Council meetings, lobbies on behalf of bicyclists. But he ain't perfect. He has human flaws just like the rest of us.
And some other flawed human who thinks his (or her) shit don't stink, puts up a Craiglist posting criticizing the Box dude. Obviously there is a lot of egotism in the bicycle community, most of it prevalent here on the MR forum. But if someone is actually getting off their ass and doing something positive to help the sometimes unappreciative bicycle community, instead of just ragging a lot, I don't care what flaws they may possess, they should be commended and applauded.
