This is what I want to bring to LA. While in portland I helped reverend phil install the lightbar on his tallbike, the (a href="http://bikeportland.org/2009/10/12/reverend-phils-door-prize-tall-bike-gets-lit-up/")doorprize.(/a) check the link, that bike is amazing.

Before the lights, with just the police car door reverend phil had been arrested and the bike impounded. The charges were later dropped so he stepped it up a notch with the police lights. Needless to say it's kinda of scary riding your bike and you see red and blue lights, until you realize it's just a tallbike.

All he needs is a PA, some air horns and he'll surely own the streets with that one.

You could get lightbars from LEO catalogs without a "departmental ref. number".

It's totally illegal to have red and blue lights on any vehicle. He found them used and he won't tell us how.

They could also be an older lightbar that got phased out.
Many law-enforcement agencies should be well versed in what equipment is current.
I remember some news stories about some boxy, 80s police car someone was using to pull over and rob drivers in Oro Grande.
He was only caught after the 5th person realized how old the equipment was, hauled ass and came back with the cavalry.
