Mens or Womens frame...

So... I wanted to buy a new comfort bike for my dads bday. He has some difficulty swinging his leg over the top tube. Is there really a big difference structurally... b/t a mens or womens frame? With a womens bike, it'll be easier for him to put his leg through. I was looking at the Trek 7200 comfort bike and didn't know if the girls bike were designed not to hangle as much weight because of the top tube being lower (he's a big guy). Any how... I hear H&S has is an auth dealer of Electra and the Townie looks like a universal frame. Will check that out too. Thanks in advance..

Al,
Why not take him to H&S and have him ride a few bikes. I think a Townie would be a good way to go...the step through bikes are real easy to ride and maneuver off and on. Good luck and hope it works out...awesome idea!

MY DAD WOULD KILL ME IF I TRIED TO PUT HIM ON A 'GIRLS' BIKE, JUST SAYING.

The Giant TranSend has proved a good bike for a friend of mine who had a hip replaced. We bought it at H&S so you should check those out too while you are there.

LOL!
Actually a "step through" is a universal/unisex bike. If it gets Dad on a bike...go for it!

Thanks Jen and everyone else. I wanted this to be a surprise but I think having him actually pick out the bike himself will be so much better. I was thinking of giving bikesdirect a try but i like H&S alot and would rather by local. Again.. thanks for the help.
@Eddieboy... welcome back!!

My mom & dad bought matching Trek comfort bikes... and both got step throughs. They love them. My dad is also a HUGE guy (6'2" and quite heavy). So don't worry about the WSD structure.
