Some bike for money, others for fame...
Rootrunners bike for the most important thing...
ROOT
What is rootrun? To define rootrun is like defining a night with brett's mom, it can't be done, you must and will experience it on your own. The terror, the apprehenishion, the SPEED.
We are a FAST paced ride that starts from the west side every wednesday night around 8-9. Check the ride posting for specific time and route. We normally do about 30-60 lays (or miles) on a wed night.
We will try not to drop you if you try to keep up, and thats generally how it works. If you come out, and your head is in getting to the finish with us, then you will definitely be there at the end. That being said, we dont wait much, so youre going to need a road bike or a fixed gear (WITH BRAKES)
The motif lately is long flats broken up by short insane climbs. Our 3 different root planners at the moment are Vanmeter, Brett, and myself, we are open to ideas definitely but in the end the final call comes to us.
IF YOU DO MISS ROOT RUN YOU CAN ONLY MISS IT FOR ONE REASON
and thats if youre getting laid.
Montana and Ocean ave in santa monica, be there!
Make sure you represent our root run colors... Red and Black ( I think white too? youll have to ask stolba or ashford)
And last but not least, a moment of silence for our root brother who started this whole thing... Sean Saxton
i was hoping to come out today but my red shirt is in the wash. that, and i see that you guys are gonna play in the hills...again...as always. have fun!
mt. olympus was mega -- word to the wise the streets up there are public and the property owners don't seem to like bikes... they called security on us before i even hit the top and the security guy tried not answer my questioning whether the roads were public... he instead tried to ask us where we lived and suggested we didn't belong up there... if it were private, there'd be a black and white sign posted at the entrance to the community... that being said dont go onto people's properties
remember you don't have to talk to security guards at all or answer their questions... don't say anything about 'root run'... if they seriously harass you or make it dangerous to ride, tell them you're calling the police
ALL THE MORE REASON TO ENJOY OUR TAXPAYER RIGHTS TO RIDE PUBLIC ROADS LEGALLY
So good to see that all the Runners are keeping true to my vision of a serious but loose west side ride. I've been keeping the tradition alive up north by thrashing guys on $8000 geared carbon machines with my $300 pieced together fixie. All you've gotta do is keep rooting!
how about a visit to downtown? keep good speed on the flats.. work on formations.... take some rolling hills back and practice peeling when going over peaks
what up root run! just moved down to LB so i'll be missing yall. but if you guys do RPV again maybe i'll go up to SM (but you guys never post the routes).
FUCK YA!!! GOTTA FUCKING LOVE THAT SHIT>... GIVE ME MORE!!!!!!
so that last pot hole fucked my bike...
Rear light explodie
Front light got shifted to pointing straight down (that fucker is on there tight!!!)
Both wheels need to be trued
Didnt realize the brakes were rubbing until we got onto catalina...
Then when i stopped i realized my rear wheel's hub has lose gremlin bearings flying around!?!?!? wtf!!!
It was my Super man visor that saved me... ROOOOOOOT

Hibernation - we're there folks, but will start shit back up sometime early/mid-October. An aim I have is to get in more intensity-based practices/intervals and back by 11.
a little loss now for bigger gains later... hopefully... everyone get in at the start of a new season's training so we can build up together
