I'm going to go practice. Anyone want to come ride with me and help me learn how to shift??? I'm going NOW.

I was hoping to actually learn something and gather some skills, but we can ride together just for fun...why not.

Oh yeah, I was already on the ride when you texted, so I didn't get your message until about 2 a.m. I'm sorry that didn't work out. I'm glad you made it out and rode with us anyways!
btw, have you read up on how to shift gears? Sheldon Brown's always a good resource before you get on the bike.

I read a few articles, but reading and putting it into practice when you're on the streets can be two different things, at least in the beginning.

That's very true, just wanted to make sure you had the basic knowledge to start with. I know I was shifting all over the place without having any idea what was going on for a very long time.
