Why is it everytime I ride {everyday} that some Fucking Tool has to
blow past me an inch away from me? I am in my lane, WTF?
Thats the other thing that kills me is the fact motorists get pissed were not in our lanes. Shit I wouldn't drive my car in half the bike lanes in this city. They are so Fucked up. Fucking Cock Suckers,

I'm noticing how FAST the cars are approaching STOP signs, planning on BLOWING THRU them, then OPPS, darn, there's traffic, I guess I'll stop. But it is ALWAYS WAY PAST the stop limit line.

I've found the best place to ride is the left side of the right lane. Even if there is a bike lane. Cars drive into it all the time and if there are any parked cars it's nervewracking to swerve away and into traffice to avoid them pulling out. Whereas, riding in the right lane on the right or center, cars try to "share" it with you, which means they swerve around you just enough to not hit you. Shitty.
Riding on the left of the right lane, they must go into the left lane to get around you. AS THEY SHOULD. You must be an offensive and defensive rider to protect yourself as best you can. Maybe this is not the legal, proper thing to do, but from experience it is the safest, most effective way for me to keep the cars off my back. Sure, they honk, but that's their issue!

You are perfectly legal when you are in the left side of the right lane.
It is called "Taking the Lane" and slow vehicle rules apply. Overtaking vehicles must have 3 feet of clearance before passing you, trucks require 6 feet.

I ride just left of center as well, yet I have had a jerk behind me pass me on MY RIGHT> Pico without bike lanes, just a curb. That section of Pico is 3 lanes, no less!!

I've said it before.
Most "retards" that I have met are very kind, well meaning people.
It is a great injustice to lump them in with the awful drivers of LA.
That have nearly full mental functioning but a complete lack of empathy/ awareness/ consideration for fellow human beings.

I get this a lot in the mornings when traffic sucks and everybody is trying to get to work. When cars begin to stop taking a few seconds to drive around me I'll just take the lane.
It's also weird how, sometimes, drivers leave you alone if you look like you're riding fast. But, then they act like cunts when you go slow.

Was sick and tired of being hit so I took the lane today on way home from work and some douchbag in the passaenger seat of his girlfriends car honks the horn and tells me to move asshole. Here is what I did told him to shut the fuck up before he got his ass kicked. He got outta his car and I hit him in the head with my bike pump knocked him clear out and left him. Then again I did tell him that if he got back into his car we would not have a problem.
What would you have done.

I'm getting sick and tired of drivers. No one cares in the hood. If your dark skinned, people automatically think you are undocumented and they dont care if they bumb you with their car. "Its not like you can go to the police"...the nerve of some PEOPLE! I'm pissed off! Stupid racial issus.

I believe that is one of the keys to riding safe in traffic. learn to ride fast... the faster I ride the less I seem to get hassled.... I think people take you much more seriously if you look like you are putting in work. I've found myself driving behind lolly gaggin' floating unpredict-abley around on a sunny smiley day cyclists and have been annoyed. I think what it is is that here in LA especially no one is out for a "sunday drive" they are trying very angrily to get to the next spot quickly so when they see a bike rider floating along they instantly hate on them thinking they are joy riding or something.... which is funny cause fast or slow, it's ALWAYS a joy ride!

today i had a road rage incident in glendale, on colorado before chevy chase. this asshole in a black jeep suv starts honking at me constantly from behind and revving up. he was pissed off that i was riding close to the center of the lane, to avoid the door zone. he then tried squeezing past me in the same lane, like a fucking douche. he couldn't get through cos there were cars in the left lane and i was pissed, so i literally took up full use of the right lane. him and his passenger start yelling "is there a bike lane? do you see a bike lane?" like i'm doing something wrong. i then tell them that as someone with a drivers license, he should know bikes are illegal on the sidewalk and have a right to use the road. when he finally got some space on the left he passed me, cut me off and braked hard in front of me. i took down his license plate and he took off like a bitch when he saw me.
should i report him?

Describe the events accurately. at the end mention that the driver is driving agressivly/recklessly, may be a possible DUI.
The thing about these stupid dumasses is if they actually paid attention and planned ahead they could EASILY pass.
When you tailgate a slow vehicle it's super hard to pass because you have no room to accelerate and everybody on your left is passing you at twice your speed.
But thats why they be dumbasses.

ah, i'm much more relaxed now, but that was the first time someone has been that aggressive towards me, so i was angry as fuck. i wanted to chase him down!
thanks all. i reported the fucker, although i don't think anything will happen. i just want there to be a record showing this asshole has been aggressive towards cyclists, specifically if he decides to do it again to someone else. hopefully he'll be too scared, but assholes in cars seem to feel anonymous and untouchable.
his license plate was W6ZD120, i believe.
