ok, here's another idea
I live right near que ricos - we could still meet a QR but people who brought stuff could drop off their potluck food and movies at my house first so they won't have to carry it for the whole ride. Then we can ride around and end at my house for a potluck and decide which movie to watch...
??

its all good - movies, pot luck - whatever - but I vote to see Sherlock Homes
will be there for ride - and either will bring food or kick in $ 10 for whatever.

I've heard reports that Golden Chopsticks (Laurel Cyn and Magnolia) and China Lites (Laurel Cyn and Chandler) both do semi-decent versions of NY style Chinese food. Sam Woo's BBQ on Sepulveda and Victory is also supposed to be OK.

ok, switching things up
I wanna ride to the beach. So, new plan - meet at Que Ricos at 12:30, 1:00 we ride over the hill to santa monica and hang out at the beach, maybe ride down along the coast to venice... we can stop and get chinese food once we get to SM, and if people want we can also see a movie. Or we can just chill on the sand.
If everyone comes with a road bike we can take a very nice, scenic, pretty much car-free route that is pretty steep. If some people are on fixed or single speed I guess we can take sepulveda.
on the way back we can ride or just bike to downtown and take the subway back

If I roll to this I will be riding fixed ...

@ijunes... no rain tomorrow... http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail/91606?dayNum=1&from=36hr_topnav_undeclared
I don't believe that you wouldn't enjoy riding your bike next to the beach...

Sam Woo's BBQ on Sepulveda is outstanding and CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP
Once we roll over the hill, its good to have 2 ways back - in case. Stay near a sub-way line - the beach means ya gotta get back before dark.
Chinatown, downtown, all that is good for movie and C dinner. The beach is not.
New cinema at Staples Center might be kool - but bring heavy duty lock
