I just looked at your profile and realized who you are.
I was admiring your 80's Centurion and Shimano 600 group on the way to the Toy Ride.
My name is Johnny Cash...no! My name is Creative Thing.

Hey, if you ever consider converting your beautiful bike into a fixie (and it will come across your mind, just fight it young jedi) could we work something out for the shimano derailler? I had the same one on mine and am having trouble locating that same component. Thanks.

And thanks but no thanks. I'm looking for the original shimano 6600 derailler.

I have that exact bike, sitting in my garage.
I thought about converting it to one gear, but man, it rides so sweet I couldn't bring myself to do it, sorry.
The only thing it needs is new hoops. The ones that came with the bike have very small beads, and I can't pump up modern tires beyond 70 pounds without the tire blowing off the rim. I have tried everything else already, new rim tape, different tires, new tubes. Nothing has prevented me from getting multiple flats every time I tried to ride it.
So when I get a job, new hoops are on my wish list.
Meanwhile, put in a request at the Kitchen for that derailleur. Those bikes seem to have been made in great quantity, judging form how many are still on the road.

Yes.
Have you had better luck with them?
I have given up.
Man, one time I was beside the road, used my spare and all my patchs and had yet another flat! I was crying, man. It was pitiful to see.

You can try to not put the air pressure where its supposed to be.
Just a little less
That worked for me

I'm through.
I won't ride the bike across the street with those rims.
They're haunted, I tell you.
