Decent Rent

So, I've pretty much locked up a job with a local charity organization as a field canvasser. I should be pulling in pretty good money, somewhere in the range of $90-110 a day. Are there any places in the area where I could live that could fit my prospective income status?

In Los Angeles? California? The US?

I'm too lazy to do the math, but if you're cool maybe you should live with Tim.

Cool as in won't cause trouble, won't be a drag on the house? Because if so, I might fit the bill seeing as I'll have gainful employment...Anyways, I found some spots on craigslist. They were only renting out individual rooms, but oh well. Anyone have any experience with that? One was right off of Vermont and Beverly, it was quoted at $227 weekly, utils included...

Craigslist is the way to go.
90/day x 20 working days a monnever= $1800/month.
You ought to be able to find a roommate situation for $500-700 without too much trouble.
(Month to month is good, but I'd stay away from the weekly / furnished room situations if possible, as some of them are sketchy.)

Ok, it's closer than where I'm at now, and with my bike, I'm sure I'm not going to be too far from the Gold Line, so that could work. Know of anything?

this is my spot
its a 2 bedroom in pasadena close to the gold line. broke up with my girl friend recently and have been trying to keep the place by my self, but really dont need this much space. and its a little expensive by my self. the room would be 500 a month plus utilities. its a good deal for the area. its right by lake and colorado and a few blocks from the gold line. all house access, kitchen, bathroom, living room ect.

That sounds sweet! Would you be looking for someone to move in ASAP or could you wait awhile? And what about deposits?

I'm open. I've already paid this months rent. And the ex is still moving things out so the place is kind of in shambles. I think maybe 300 bux down would be cool. how soon do you need a place?

I'm kind of open too. I'm not exactly in the position where I'm going to have that money right away,(beginners don't make that much right off) so maybe within the next month or so I should have all of that squared away after some saving.

Hmm, it could be an option. I'm getting my last financial aid check on the 1st. It will likely be small, but with the new job, maybe I can put some of it away towards a deposit. I'm a little too swamped to go out on rides, but I will be back in town to do my orientation day on wednesday, maybe I can hitch a ride on the Gold Line and head out to your area after the day is done...

That'd be a mish anyways, lol. I'd have to ride up the pass after every ride, unless I went to a ride out in the valley...Oh yeah, and I did see something downtown, around $300 a month. It's a studio apartment in the old Rosslyn building. Any suggestions regarding downtown?

With the massive amounts of costly rentage in those areas, I always wonder how many even pull it off.
