Home for the Holidays

Anyone who gets dragged out of town for the holidays knows a couple things:
LA is better.
Not having your bike sucks.
Airlines suck for being unreasonable about flying a bike.
Not being able to smoke pot around your parents blows.
Not having pot because of unreasonable airline security practices also blows.
(yes, I'm stuck at my parents' place for Thanksgiving, and I'm bored out of my mind and really wanna GTFO)

Seriously, I need to remember to bring more spandex with me when I leave town. Riding on strange saddles = painful.
But at least on bikepolo.ca, I can hook up with all the other crazy bike people anywhere in the world. It helps a bit. Also, lots of tips floating around for ways to get your bike on a plane, although I haven't tried most of them yet.
Miss you, Fuzz!

Lol I'm so the opposite. I needa remember to take clothes other than spandex. Bike shorts and fingerless gloves ain't good when you're in 20 degree weather :(

Aw shit. You can't rig it to work anyways? Or he won't let you?
I thought your parents were both into bikes, they don't have spares lying around? I have 2 (admittedly crappy) bikes at my parents place. Then again, I also am home often enough for them to keep said bikes around.

hahaha yeah I could never do that. I thought it was bad going to the 50 degree weather in TX. But no matter the weather, spandex >>> cotton underwear, even under long underwear and pants.

I'm in Reno, Nevada, with 12 children. 10 cousins!! All ages from 1 to 4 through 13 years old. It's crazy!! I brought my bike with me. 9 hours here and some cold weather won't hold me back. I need my freedom!
And LA is definitely better.

The roads are very smooth. No potholes. Drivers are patient because they don't have to worry about traffic and they aren't in an intangible rush. But, damn, there's hardly anyone riding out here! One day I'll come back and open a co-op and I'll change the city.

But some good things about being at the folks' house is the abundance of food!!!
I've been sick this week and being home and eating well has helped me feel better.
Anyone else got the sore throat/swollen tonsils thing that's going around???
