Thanks to all who stopped to help me fix my double pinch flat! Damn potholes. Gio, thanks for the tube and kit. Steph, thanks for the other tube. What a night! Double flat was worth it to be able to hang with Trenway in the park and be chased off by the cops at 2am. Big love all around.
Note for tonight...bring hydration/a vessel for me to fill with water with you to the start! the stop for beverages is a few hills in.
We're gonna ride our normal chill mosey pace in between the climbs for the most part, and wait at the top of every big hill. that said, i guarantee you will get a workout.
This isn't a route (i've got it all worked out but as usual it's a secret), more of a highlights map...it'll give you some idea what we're up to:
omfg. raquel, the ONE mosey you go in since the ice age, and i happen to be OutOfOrder with staph. BOO! and wtf does the HILL mosey spokecard look like?!

I left the USC garage with two other guys but by the time I got to the bottom they were gone and some cops were chewing me out about my "stupid friends" who wouldn't stop when they were told to. They rattled off a list of places we had been, "...you were riding around the track.. and then you were there and then there ..and this garage is going to be your last stop!" I agreed and cheerfully assured them that was the plan. After all I'm an old man and I need my three hours of sleep before I go to work the next day. I didn't mention how happy I am that my job does not include riding around on a Segway telling people to stop having fun. But I think they could tell.

THANK YOU to everybody who came out for this ride, it was one of my favorite moseys ever. Extra special props to everyone who stuck with it through all the extra stops and lost-ulye insanity (especially the 2nd trip to margaritas when we had to pretend bernie wasn't there).
Also, I wanted to apologize to everybody who got dropped against their will, especially around echo park. A lot of the ride seemed to be trying to get dropped/didn't want to go with us anymore, so when only half of the people who rolled into house of spirits left with us, i wasn't very inclined to convince them to come/wait around any longer for them. If you were still there and wanted to come but lost us, sorry!

I also thought it was really funny that the DPS guys had to prove they had an eye on us for a while...i got the same rundown of our activities as i left the UPC parking garage. In the end, though, the guy who works there every night told us to just come say wassup on the way in and next time he'll pretend he doesn't see us. Sounds like a good deal to me.
we got to hit those hills with the group there a real leg burner. Had to leave early some drunk ass hole crashed into my sisters bike and broke some spokes. Wtf . I know i shouldnt be pissed but if you cant fucking hold your liqour dont fucking drink. One thing is to fuck your own night up but not some innocent rider who is sober trying to have a good time.
ok,. so no spoke cards tonight, (kinkos needs to update their 10 mil laminating inventory!)
but what a fun night, foot down with the stragglers at the smokehouse reinvigorated my already vigorous love for the ridazz. (and the mosey)
steph learned to skid (off the bars!), poop alley gave way to the river, and i stood there looking at all the Golden Wests and reefer cars, reminiscing. although the river isnt what it used to be, if i just blur my eyes a little, it still is magic.
some shit is aligned in the stars, my heart is welling up, and pouring over with happiness and love. I cant help but assume it's because of MR, and for me, the apex of my week is wed night.
good times last night.
i was reallly glad that no rider was left behind. from the flat 100 yards into the ride, to the downed riderz, to eddie's ticket, to the really drunk guy, to even the guy with no bike- (wtf? i am confused as to how that happened.)
anyways, the river cool down was dope. see yall next time.
Oh the guy with no bike didn't originally come with us. But he was new to the country and a bunch of people got him really drunk and took his wallet and ID and everything but his life. Brian(turquoise raleigh) and I took him home. Tried to get him some food. And I realized I had lost my wallet and left. But Brian took good care of him.
