If you mean for the LA Marathon, I think this is the first year they're not having the acura bike tour before the marathon... not sure if they'll have it at all this year, though I think they might have it on a different day. Pretty disappointing since I had wanted to go this year too.

There is a bike tour in April.
Start and finish at the police academy in Elysian Park.
There's a 35 mile ride and a 50-something ride, escorted and corked but L.A.'s finest.

Don't waste your time trying to register. Just crash it like most people do. The bike tour/marathon is on my birthday this year (if you care). I want to do something crazy like skateboard the course. The furthest I've ever skated without stopping is about 14 miles so I'll have to do some training before race day. I know I can skate at least as fast as the people who only ride their bikes once a year at the bike tour...

The brilliant minds behind the marathon's new ownership have killed the traditional bike tour under the pretense of re-envisioning it as a "world class" bike event that takes place entirely separate from the marathon... which sounds like a bunch of smokeblowing bullshit.
Come marathon day next March, I for one envision my own private bike tour in which I crash the race course from the start line at Dodger Stadium at 6 a.m. to the finish in Santa Monica.
Stay tuned for further deetails.

Dear Agent Orange,
I would be honored in helping you crash the LA (Acura?) Bike Tour this year, again.

I can't find any information about a 2010 ride. Perhaps it has gone the way of the Marathon ride?

just got this from the organizers:
Thank you for contacting the Los Angeles Marathon. With the logistics of the new course, we are working to reinvent the Bike Tour for the 2010 year. The Bike Tour will not be the morning of the marathon and we will provide you with additional details about the event in the next 1-2 months. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

The OTHER L.A. bike tour is called the Volkswagen City of Angels Bike Tour.
It will be late April, start and finish at the police academy in Elysian Park.

There is no information on this site as of today, but I did this ride a few years ago. There is a chill pace 35 mile group and an agro 50 mile group. Both groups are "escorted" by LAPD motorcycle cops. They control the group's speed and all riders MUST stay behind the lead cops. They also cork all intersections for us, which was the highlight for me!
I did the slower ride with my wife on the tandem. We kept up with the pack doing 12 mph.
So don't expect a hard work out, but expect to have fun riding with hundreds of others and enjoying the neighborhoods you roll through.
There was one rest stop about halfway through the ride, where they supplied water, fruit, cookies and some sort of Gator aid product. Everyone had to stop at the rest stop, and could not continue until the lead cops said so.
On the last mile, climbing back to the academy up Stadium Way, a cop on a bike keeled over onto the grass with leg cramps! My old lady and me (an old guy) were right next to him and we just kept on stroking up the hill!
They charge about $35, but I think you can do this without a number. You get a finishers medal and a lunch with your entry fee.
