Maybe. Krista, Ray, and I all agreed that we wouldn't lead it, but if someone steps up and posts it, we'll (probably) go. Otherwise, Valley --> Sixpack.
yeh...me and javi will be playing polo in noho today so...we'll probably show up...If n e 1 wants to hang out at the polo court b4 the ride we'll be there all day, honing our skills...I just dont like riding too long with a MTB.
Naww mean!!
• If it's late at night, you've been sucking down beers, and you're stopped in front of Glen Haven Memorial Park for too long, little men will run out of the main building with white billy clubs and pound on your car. Ouch.
• A bunch of little kids were allegedly killed on Gravity Hills some years ago, and if you sprinkle baby powder on your car bumper, you'll see little handprints from the young ghosts who push your car uphill.
• At the top of the hill sits an abandoned swing set; if you're there at 11, and your cars lights are dim, you will see a little girl rocking back and forth. Remember not to honk: If she looks at you, you'd best go home. If you stay, she'll be riding with you. And then lord knows where you might end up.
• You can allegedly hear babies crying in the distance from inside the cemetery; that is, if you keep the Pat Travers to a quiet roar.
• Not a myth: If the cops catch you parked with drugs or booze, they can be assholes. They poured stray beers into my friend's radiator.
uhh actually its only one part, if you want i can roll up the small hill with the trailer. or we can opt out the whole hil part cause trailer sounds COOLER
best part about the ride, route is never important. we're never too far from the station, and we never go over 20 miles, and we never ride faster than 16 mph, unless we're all running for a red light.
but our stop is a secret park by the burbank airport after we get in on some live action role playing action.

we usually get back well before midnight so there is always a train running back to LA.
But we leave at 8:30 SHARP.
The past two weeks, we've just been kind of harassing them, but this week we will do a little riding pre-hand, go buy a beer or two and hang out with the LARPers.
If I didnt have so many identies i'd be at or about the same amount. Well, come to think of it, you did have a couple months of 10 or more posts per day...
somewhere a bunny rabbit is laughing at you.

dont worry we ended up walking the last 2 mi. it was 10-13% grade, and nobody except for mark climbed that thing. damn granny gears. but the view from the top was worth it. we got to see the entire sfv and dtla in the same shot.

So, tonight's ride didn't go down... Juno showed after all, but with a bad tooth ache. (Thanks for the heads up about H&S, Juno. Hope your tooth gets beter, or you can get it fixed, or get some Vicodin.) Other than that, only me and three other guys I hadn't seen before showed up (which doesn't say much, since this would have been my third group ride...) After everyone split, I went for chill, flat ride anyway. It was a nice cool night. And the soundtrack included Prodigy, Curve, Orbital, Portishead, and other chill tunes. And - BONUS - I found this cool version of Orwell's 1984, with the retro cover art, at Iliad bookstore. Top it off with a taco combination at Que Ricos, where I met a VERY drunk little old Mexican man named Mario who cornered me by the Salsas to complain about another very drunk Gringo who was trying to speak (very bad) Spanish, and the night was actually somewhat of a success.
Hey! This is probably gonna sound like a dumb ass question, but since I'm new to midnight Ridazz....I'm still trying to find my way around the site....and hopefully come across great VALLEY rides!
& I was told by a few people that the Monday night Rehab ride is always a good time!!~ not to mention, my beach cruiser's speed, or mine for that matter.....wouldn't be an issue!
lol
Sooooo, I wanted to see if I could join everyone this coming Monday (10/12)?
That's if in fact, this ride takes place every Monday????
or is it only every other Monday, or some shit like that?
MONDAY THE 19TH IS MONDAY NIGHT BUFFET. GET REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REEEEEEEEEALLY BAKED AND THEN GOTO A BUFFET AND EAT THE FUCK OUT

I recently watched a documentary about the people who compete in eating contests. They actually practice eating. The dominating champ is this tiny little Asian girl. I'm considering your challenge...
The Burbank Airport Monday Night Rehab was fun - I think that's when we rode by the Hometown Buffet in the Empire Center. Is that this Monday night's destination?
Either way, I'm in if I can get off work on time...

Monday Night Buffet was a success for sure. Thanks for the spokecards Ray. I think the eating contest was perhaps a draw? We all ate like champions. I love this thread...it's so full of food. Second to Bike N Bake of course....oh, I think I'm about to thread jump...after I make a burrito...
The eat off was a draw .... Everyone ate way to much .. but it was a fun Monday Night Buffet.. I woke up not hungry .. I will see how long that lasts ...

The U.S. Government got word of a deadly and infectious disease. An emergency order sealing off an Urgent Care Medical facility in Burbank California was quickly put into place. A Military Patrol team and specialized physicians were sent to investigate the quarantined building. The Government has now denied any knowledge of the incident and the Patrol team was never heard from again. There were no explanations; there was no evidence, until now. Experience the truth for yourself when you try to escape. A house haunt. (Formally 1401 Massacre Manor.) Haunting since 2001, at this location since 2007.

I know you posted an early start, but i'll likely be coming from the bike plan meeting in Van Nuys, which is supposed to end at 7...we'll see....but wait for me!!
Did the haunted house thing happen Monday? Sounds like it would have been a fun ride. I was in San Francisco, supposedly having a great time, but actually feeling sick and having nosebleeds. But Alcatraz was pretty cool - can't bike to it though. Anywayz, looking through the forums, it's amazing how many things happened during the few days I was gone, from bus heroics to this haunt ride to the curry and cookies. And I get back to find my laptop under full attack from some virus nastier than the one giving me a bloody nose. OK, nothing earth-shattering, but I did lose some spiderweb pix from the Monday Night Buffet I was gonna post.
iJunes, and other Rehab ridazz that were on last Monday's ride, the CODE 4 incident inspired me to recount the story in loose verse.
Of course, it's not good poetry - is there even such a thing? - but it made me smile when I wrote it, and again when I've reread it. Hope it makes you smile too.
And, yes, I took some license, but history is always colored by the storyteller.

I know we just did Monday Night Buffet a couple weeks ago, but has there been a Monday Night Pizza recently? Is anyone up for it? Maybe one of the upcoming pre-holiday Mondays? If this sounds good, I could kick in 40 clams toward the pies.
I LOVE PIZZA! I can't come out & play tomorrow tho. : /
ah, well, enjoy your pizza/ride, etc.
Also, two weeks from now is BIKE N BAKE - Monday 11/23 - A ridazz thanksgiving feast! Only this time, it's gonna be mid-city. Hope you guys can make it!
Krysta, the good news is we didn't do Pizza tonight, so we still need to plan that for sometime soon. I'm a proponent of doing Monday Night Pizza before the xmas holidays, but I'd support it any time - it is pizza after all. And my offer still stands to throw in 40 bucks towards the pies when we do it.

Glad to hear everything is cool with you iJunes. We worried some - but there were all these bicycles around with nothing to do, so we had to ride. It was good, but everywhere we went there was glass. I think last night was unofficially christened the Monday Night Glass Ride - but no flats beside the awesome and friendly flat streets of the valley.
On the downside. when everything wound down, and everyone was safely off to faraway lands beyond the Redline, I concluded it must be Que Ricos time. Unfortunately, a dark parking lot shortcut, and an evil concrete island, who, waiting for an opportune time, jumped out in front of an unsuspecting rida, caused said rida to fly awkwardly - dare I say embarrassingly splay-legged - over his handlebars, and into a not quite perfectly executed barrel roll that, though preventing serious head trauma, did cause said rida's shoulder to fight a losing battle with the ever-present potholed blacktop.
The good news is that Tennessee Tuxedo (said rida's bicycle) was undamaged (kinda). Also, (1) there were no witnesses - said rida jumped up like a cat, (2) Advil is a miracle drug, and (3) Que Ricos tacos taste every bit as good when you are licking your wounds and nursing a bruised ego (not to mention shoulder) as they do any other time. Oh, it is possible Mr. Jägermeister may have had something to do with this unforeseen and unfortunate incident - but I am not prepared to concede that point, your honor...

Dude...I'm glad you're ok!! Hope the ego was more bruised than the shoulder, etc...those concrete islands can be assholes! I got into a fight with some concrete in the SFV once and lost, but hey-experience'll teach ya, right?
yeah pizza!! hey Junu - when's the potluck ride? I'll make some gluten free pizza... or maybe gluten free something easier :) we def need more food rides...

Hey Junu,
Are you actually gonna be there this time??? I heard you were sick, but it really blows for the people who take the time and effort to come out and then not have the ride happen because the ride leader didn't show and didn't bother to tell anyone. Seriously dude, not cool. These past couple times we've had people who came all the way from the downtown, Los Feliz, and Hollywood areas, and who just had to turn and go home after waiting for hours. If you can't make it, pull the ride off the calendar.
No need for that, I really enjoyed the the cold ass ride we took to griffith park passing the LAZoo, met some cool peeps, blazed, drank some tall cans on the go, and finally concluded the ride by kicking back and tripping out on the dark ass sky. Whos game for a Monday Rehab Relapse

yeah i'm coming out. this has been a weekly ride so i wasn't even aware that my attendance was mandated. the ride never has a plan. we always go by how we feel. you guys aren't missing out on anything when i'm not there. i swear.

someone threw a glass bottle at the ride. going through shattered glass in the wind discouraged me from finishing the group ride. cops were called, but how can you make a report when the fuckers drove off, and witness details were lacking?
I don't see it up on the calender...but I know it's a weekly thing. Last few times I've gone its been awesome albeit freeform...this still happening tomorrow?
Funny coincidence about the ride going to the east coast tonight - I actually have to go to the east coast (or close enough) the second half of this week for work.
That SUX!.. It means I miss Ice Skate and Destroy, which I was looking forward to, and Festival of Lights Ride.

FAQK! Here it is 11:00 or so. and I'm still not asleep! I have a 6:00 AM flight tomorrow morning and I'm not even sleepy.!...
Last night's Rehab was a great ride, as usual. Yeee Mo-Folking Haa. (I love MNR!) But I'm still pissed about having to miss out on the rest of the cool rides this week. And I'm not at all happy about this sleeplessness.
Nonetheless, another good Monday night. This ride has made me look forward to Mondays, and gets me through the drudgery of the first workday of the week. YAY!!!
things that will stop me from coming to MNR tonight ... 1) Im buying a new computer today and I know Im going to get wrapped up ... 2) the mall eats me alive and I spend way more money than Im actually planning on spending on Christmas gifts and I cry myself to sleep while looking at my bank statement ... 3) another random Christmas party in my building that i get sucked into going to ....
things that will stop me from coming to Rehab tonight: my back wheel is b.u.s.t.e.d because of the spill I took on the wet tracks on Friday night. Havta see if the Bike Kitchen has a new wheel for me cuz it ain't fixable cuz it ain't ridable.... :( SAD...
Believe it or not, your wheel can be fixed. Trust, take it from a polo player who's had wheels taco'd just as good and brought them back into use with some first-class truing. Shit, it happened to me yesterday! Take that wheel to Morey at the Bike Factory! Tell him I sent you.
That may be why I can't come tonight. My front brakes seem to be pretty busted now :( keep gotta get them fixed at the kitchen. I'm not the brakeless type...
Yea it happens every monday night, unless posted canceled, and Junes just posted it up. Very cool ride for all levels come on down you'll be hooked. Im feeling kinda blah so I'll be bummed if I miss it.
to guy who had double flat action:
sorry you had to take the bus home. im sure you will have tubes and a pump in ur backpack next time instead of a pencil and some lint.
