If anyone needs help with finding the location, I'll go searching for it after school.
The location is 1253 Bishops Road. I know Chinatown, relatively well. Right off the bat I can tell you that there is a Basketball court on Alpine Park. (620 Alpine St.) Not sure if it will be big enough for polo. But its worth a look.

imachynna you gotta show us that you really want to play polo =/ mallets arent for looks. We cant just give everyone that says "i'll play if I got a mallet" they might just play once and forget about it and thats a waste of a mallet. come to the polo grounds >=D show us what you got and keep coming and you'll get yours in no time :P

He Talked to Matt last night and said you already found a spot. If so Can you text me the info. I didn't see it posted on the sides exact location?

Seriously. I got there around 10 as well, Krista didn't answer her phone and Alex wasn't at polo. Rode around for about 10 minutes before getting too sketched out and heading back to the Valley.

Glendale & temple. Tennis courts, lights & fences. From DTLA this is north thru the 2nd st tunnel past beaudry, 2nd turns into glendale and they are on the right before hitting echo park lake. 7 to 11.

Well........if you noticed I didn't post it this time ....and I had a Doctors appointment @ 2Pm and didn't get to see her until 5:30pm........so TRY making out when you've been sleep deprived the night before, still have to work 8hrs, and show up to the doctors and wait for 3 almost 4 hours when you made an appointment ( what the fuck is the appointment for if you have to wait right????). sorry I tried to make it and I know I posted I would try to get there.....but I was to fucking tired of having shit strapped to my head to monitor my seizer's. I'm not taking it out on you Jean, it's just I really had important shit to do and I don't think any of you understand my problem:D next time I'll be there.

Don't stress Gaby, Debut just needs to get his own mallet. Yeah, sometimes there's things that need to be done. I have a commitment to a project that has been in the works for 6 months now - so it took precedence too. Does that mean you guys shouldn't go play? No! I even made sure my mallet was there so someone else would get to use it. Just make it happen!!!
Dak is making mallets for $10, it's a good deal. Take him up on it.

Just to clarify the spot is on Olive between 12th & Pico. There a bunch of empty lots, some lit more than others, all are clean - no funny glass, sharp objects, flat and bordered. In other words, majorly awesome potential!

So last week the security guard who watches the lot, who is totally cool with having us there, let us know his boss sticks around til 8 and til then he's gotta do his job and keep the lot clear...so we're gonna start at 8. Hope ya'll are cool with that.
If you catch the train out from del valle, just get off on 7th, ride straight down Hope to Pico and hang a left, the spot's a block down from there on Olive.

I think we should play on that side street just south of the lot we play in. the street is not traveled on and there are lights...we can easily play from 7-8pm until the lot opens up.

I checked that street out when I was scouting...it's not as flat or clean. It tapers downward toward the sidewalks on either side. But if ya'll wanna play earlier, we can give it a shot. I need to know that at least 4 heads will show at 7 tho. Who wants to do that?

So I did some scouting Wednesday night with Wesley, (Yeah way to wait last minute) We found the Most amazing spot!!!!
We talked to the security guard and explained the game of bike polo and the amount of people who will attend. We also promised to clean up after wards...Dude was fucking dope, He looked high as fuck but said it was okay as long as there aren't any events going on at the staple center we are cool.
This spot is on Figueroa st. Between Pico st and 12Th St.!!! right in front of the mother fucking staple center:D the most amazing view for polo on Thursdays. If your coming on train I believe you get off on 7th metro stop..take Figueroa all the way to the staple center..We will set up in the back of the parking spot....Please call me if you need to know where this Shit is taking Place its 626) three 1 nine - eight 8 six 5.
Please lets keep this spot clean I will bring trash bags, its our frist time playing here and its hard to find a fucking spot to play in DTLA..Hope to see the 818 heads there!

Somebody go scout out 4th and Clarence, the 300s block of one of those streets. On RWNN last week we rolled it and there was a multi-use fenced in court that looked SICK to play in, and it was lit. I mean google it up it would be an even better spot, if not as picturesque as the one u guys have now. And we'll return to your 213 game, but seriously the rink in NoHo is probly the best location to play on the West Coast.

Golly, I boffed that one...its fucked up too cause when I couldnt find you all I decided to ride around...and I took Fig rhight were you all must have been. I prefer the fully rigid mountain bike, but whatever bike u have is fine.Fixie is good for defense, and freewheel is good for forward, in my opinion. There are no rules against either. The real issue is the gear ratio you ride. Unfortunately a crappy player can outplay a better one simply by having a much lower gear ratio. I ride 36x27/25 - 26" wheels on a heavy steel mountain bike. 36x22 is good for 700c wheels, depending on the size of the court.

+1 on ridig mtn bike. Depending on if your left or right handed you may need to switch your brake. I still have front brake on left hand side (I am right handed) and keep doing endos on quick stops.

It was the pole.
If ya'll are playing at the same spot, I don't think packing tape is going to cut it. The slow turnaround time of the games due to the large field of play is really noticeable. Boards seems like a good idea- maybe just like the short boards they had in SF. Maybe there's a spot nearby where the boards could be stashed during the week, and you could pull them out to play quickly at the beginning of the night. It's definitely worthwhile to have at least that small bit of control of where the ball goes.

Unipolo's kind of weird- they have a regular game in PDX, but there's like NO crossover whatsoever between the people who play bike polo Wed. night and the people who play uni polo Thurs. night on the same court.
Apparently the uni players just used the court lines from bike polo, including the goal one 700c bike wide. Just weird.
