Hey there peepz,
Sorta nOOb on board. I don't care about giving you guys 21 answers to who I am. (I'll save that for some other time I feel like being sensitive and emotoional about myself.) But anywhos, I was wondering if anybody heard about this product, RESPRO, face mask. I already searched "respro" on the forum, and no dice.
If anybody has the 411 on these products and where some are stashed so I could look 'em up., try 'em, that would be great.
I already know there is a website; http://www.respro.com/, but I want to know the scoop on them; like if anybody has them out there, what size they have, stuff like that.

i already looked it up on on google/ shopping. but there no stores that have them, besides online order.
annnnnnd, so ya.

Feels to me like he's passive aggressively trying to promote this new item. If you couldn't find it on google (really? shit, I can locate my dead grandmother's missing wisdom teeth on that shit) then stop wasting your time. It either doesn't exist or it's still too new.

if this is a repost, can you help forward the link. I mean, I did everything to 'effectively be a proper nOOb' should be/do before asking nOOb questions.
And what's with the questions and accusations?
I googled it yes, and failure at that method. That's why I come here to ask, because this is a bicycle enthusiast site. (The product is new, it's been around for awhile though.) I ride motorcycles and they have Respro motorcycle fog mask in stores. But not cyclist mask.
And for the record/ reason. My face doesn't get cold, but I do have random nose-bleeds from the cause of my nose getting dry. I have thin tissue close to my vien, that can easily tear. So I'm looking for this Respro mask, so I could prevent this from happening, and so I could ride more often. (sheesh, gawd....)

I'll just probably contact respro themselves after a couple of days.... if nobody else have these laying around.
I've seen people ride with them, (maybe they just went and bought it online). but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here.

My gf got one in London last year. I don't know how much it cost, prolly not much. She likes it for filtering out bus fumes, etc, and it was cool during the fires. But since it looks kinda....well, looks are subjective, but suffice to say, she doesn't wear it very often. She's going again in a few weeks. Do you want one?

no it's okay. I rather pick it myself, I'm sorta picky, that's why well...., "looks are subjective". So, it's fine. I'll just wait 7 days on the responses for this thread and i'll go from there or get it online.
I can't wait though!! I'll have less frequent nose bleeds and look cool at the same time (like one of those mortal kombat characters w the face mask; scorpion, reptile, s zero.) Until then, it's my gray gangsta hankerchief.... =/

i knew someone who had these. i thought about getting one but since i don't commute as much in the city anymore, i decided i could go without. my friend said it helped and it was noticeable, and was good for his minor asthma. but he said it gets pretty hot in the summertime. those things are what, 40 bucks with filter? not too expensive but i keep finding other things to blow money on.

@kims1: you can get snowboarding masks, bandannas, etc for cheap, but these have a activated carbon cartridge to act as filter. the same stuff brita uses in water filters, etc. supposed to be able to get out the particulate polutants that go through face masks, etc.

I don't see any need for this particular product unless you're a wildland firefighter on a hotshot crew working a blaze on a dry hillside.

oh wow, i didn't realize that it had carbon filters.

I already went to the surplus store where i live next to (Van Nuys/ Hart) and I didn't see any. I made sure I searched through there like a hawk, but no dice. although, they do have some cheap sick looking gloves that I'll advise people to go if they want some cycling gloves.
And my hankerchief/ badanna isn't really cutting it out for me. I'm a heavy breather when i ride, and so the badanna gets all wet, can't breath from my nose, then I take it off, then my nose starts to run, then, then, then there comes the dryness of wiping the nose then, then, then, bad picture after that.... =/

if u can't find ur respro thing, rub vaseline in and outside ur nose. it sounds weird but i think it will help you. at least with ur nose running and eventually bleeding.
i think that with the combination of ur bandanna may help a lot till u get ur respro
