Okay, you know who you are. Who ran into the lady on Vermont and Lockwood during tonight's LACM? You little pricks just took off! She was scared and crying. The ambulance showed because she was hurt.
It's guys like you who do not need to represent cyclists. You are cowards. You are an embarrassment, It's thugs like you who give the ride a really bad name. The rest of us are about proving to the rest of the world that we are traffic too. But when idiots like you show up, throw beer bottle into the streets of neighborhoods, you undo anything that the rest of us are able to accomplish.
In the future, stay home. Throw beer bottles in your own yard. Run over your own mother. You are not welcome, nor do you represent responsible cyclists.
some assholes almost ran over more people on hollywood blvd..while sidewalk surfing. fast as fukk no regard for human life..just because he wanted to go in front of the ride...JERKS!
You would not do a godamn thing.
Not talking shit... people are just too afraid don't have enough character to do the right thing nowadays unless someone else is standing beside/behind them.
They should have been stopped right then and there when the incident occurred. If the OP (original poster) saw them then he should have said/done something.
This is why I've stopped going on rides as of late.

wow!! i missed that too... between the few spills i saw riders take and the hit and run, i bet the emergency room doctors won't forget us anytime soon... the one thing i must say, on a possitive note, i didn't see any fights... i feel bad for the poor old lady hit... but if i may play devils advicate for a moment... the mass of bikers is like a train, not stopping for red lights, cars, police ect... why would someone try and cross through the bikes? i didnt see her but i did see acouple walkers playing frogger through the bikes last nite, and cars inching their way, trying to get through too!! that's bad judgement to me... again i hate to see anyone hurt!!
and i wouldn't ride lacm if i were cought up on being a proper role model as a cyclist... we're hardly sharing the road, we're taking it over... isn't that the point?
one quick side note... dudes are dopes if they're on bike throwing beer bottles.. dont they know glass pops bike tires mane!! send those types back to the L.A River where they belong!!
I agree with you mayor. When cars are whizzing by I don't step in front of them to cross the street. That is just a death wish. The problem is that there were lots of pedestrians crossing the street last night through the bicycles without a problem. There is a way to cross when hundreds of bicycles are riding down the street. You just have to know how to do it. When bicycles ruled the streets of China, pedestrians could weave their way through the pack and cross the streets. Bicyclists would either slow or avoid them.
As far as the other idiots throwing bottles and shit, that is stupid. But again, the majority of bicyclists are courteous, smart and conscientious. We had what, 20 idiots among 450?
If you chose 450 car drivers at least half of them are idiots. So I say we are doing a hell of a lot better than that.
wow, i didnt see that last night. i left right when everyone was at rite aid because i was kind of not having a good time this ride. there was a good amount of idiots making their own rules this time too. i think it should be mandatory to give a really harsh speech at the beginning of the ride. if you break rules, we call you out. i'm not a young kid so i don't put up with that shit. eveyone else has to call people out as a group when people do that shit. the cops are gonna shut us down if we keep making these rides "thug rides".
I believe we should ENFORECE and give a really harsh speech at the beginning of the ride. if you break rules, we call you out. i'm not a young kid so i don't put up with that shit. eveyone else has to call people out as a group when people do that shit.

Most of the 12 year old taggers on the ride would probably just say fuck you and such sorts. You know how they are. I'll probably just stop going to Critical Mass due to the fact more shitheads are attending.
MINUS ONE SHITHEAD, GOOD IDEA, OR LET SOMEBODY ELSE TRY TO LEAD. AND JUST COME AND RIDE, FOLLOW THE CROWED, TRUST ME, WHEN YOU GET TO THE STOPS, YOULL ALWAYS BE WELCOMED.
i personally am look forward to the next ride!! i'll have more bmx chromies with me and hope some more so. cal. bmxers show this time!! i counted less than 10 bmx bikes... out of 400 and something!! wow, we're a dieing breed!!
I didn't witness any of the spills or collisions, I'm happy to say. Other than my own friend eating it all by herself on her new fixie. ;p
Unfortunately, while it's fun to get some steam out on here, none of those troublemakers are going to read this. You have to speak with your actions on the ride if you want to make a difference.
The only problems I had on the ride were separation of packs (nothing new, not much you can do) and aggressive, angry drivers (nothing new for any ride). On this ride, I tried asserting myself and telling some drivers to just chill out, respect our peaceful protest, and in five or ten minutes your life will go on just as normal, and you'll have a story to tell. 90% of them were receptive, and relaxed. Keeping my cool seemed to give me more authority than flipping out. Yelling promotes yelling.
did your friend eat it right after sunset and vermont? I saw a wheel whiz right by my buddy's face right there, but he was fine. Hope your friend is fine too.

No, she was having trouble right at the start, first hundred yards or so, where everyone was going SUPER slow. She was having trouble balancing at those low speeds w/o being able to spin the pedals backwards.
DARKMARK..... all i have to say is DAMN!!! WELL SAID!!!
its sooo true. all these little kids, can ride bikes, hey thats cool.
support all bikers. BUT! when they are acting like idiots riding towards
on coming traffic and yelling at people, knocking them over, throwing shit, tagging, stealing etc, JUST GIVES A BAD NAME for bikers.
"How do you kill the car culture in LA? By getting more people on bikes."
Well, yes and no. Yes, we could make a dent in car culture if more people took bikes to work, commuting, running errands, cruising around day and night. "Normal" bike use, you could say.
But as much fun as MR rides are, I don't think they do much for making a dent in car culture. When it becomes masses of drunk punks, smashing bottles, running people over, effing with cars, its a huge put off for the greater public. Most of these ridazz don't ride outside of these party rides anyway. It's just another party, but one on wheels. That's a good thing and a bad thing.

With most of the ride-info being passed along via word-of-mouth, anyone could twist the purpose of the ride to their own agenda.
I guess even with the advent of online networking, there's still hordes of people out there that either don't have on-the-fly, internet access or, they all still live close enough for face-to-face.
