some Ahole almost ran over some pedestrians on hollywood blvd he was trying to sidewalk surf all going fast and shit trying to go in the front of the ride...fuckn kids..and another one doing a no hands wheelie in the middle of the ride putting other riders in danger..
TERRIBLE RIDE this time. broke up in multiple groups, same boring neighborhoods, and someone in the group i was riding with hit an old lady crossing the street and knocked her over. i didn't see how she was but a lot of people stopped. so fucked up. i got to the peoples ride meet and just ditched it when the cops came to go to griffith park and smoke a bowl in the hills
pretty cool ride!! we were super deep at the begining, but the mass did split up in to groups which sucked... strength in numbers!! met some cool dudes!! saw some pretty nasty spills. hope the sweetheart who went down is ok... but 1 question fellas.... why only a couple bmx bikes?!! hundreds of people and only like 5 bmx bikes... if this were the "outback", then the bmx rider would be on the endangered species list!! i'm proud to say i'm still riding bmx and loving it mane!! the crooks and castles 26" OM Flyer baby!! see you chromies at the next ride!!
The ride was epic & hectic. with numbers like that, we need some way to keep everyone on the route. once again, fast riders splintered the ride, but with twitter and texting, i was able to bring about 80 kids back into the main group. then rode all out to make it to peoples ride that was bailing right when we arrived. henry or marvin took a big spill, hope he's recovering from that concussion. party at TOW was amazing.
We should do a route next time. there's just no way to stay together. one girl in a car told me after she saw us ride past, and it was almost 10-12 minutes of riders snaking thru!
It was like a mini-Crank Mob. There were at least 400 riders at the start. There definitely needs to be a leadership group or something. Even San Francisco has a core group of leaders. With this many riders there has to be some kind of organization. It was a fun ride nevertheless but we could have rode further and been more of a "mass" if there was more organization. Met a lot of cool people last night on both rides.
What happened last night is the unfortunate part about critical masses. Some people are in it for the cause, some are just there to create chaos, and cut off cars and drink, and loot, you name it. Last nights ride split fast. Part of the split came at Highland and Melrose when a cop just stopped everyone who didn't make it through the light. then someone turned right onto La Cienega and proceeded up the hill to Fountain. The ride was pretty much done at that point. People who couldn't make it bailed out, the people who could never stopped to regroup and the message was completely lost. I corked Fountain and La Cienega as long as I could but the hill was too much for some riders and it all thinned out.
My recommendation, at the start of the ride...announce to everyone the first regroup location. That way if it splits up, people know where to go. Second, adopt a stay behind the music trailer mentality and let that be the leader. Speaker trailer would never opt to go up La Cienega.
No one will ever be able to control 300 to 400 plus riders, so the only thing you can give them is a guide and hope they follow it. let them know what the message is so they can at least understand what's its all about. Otherwise it just becomes chaos on a bike.
If it works for 1,000 people during Crank Mob it will easily handle LACM.
I've seen the progression of chaos and if it happens one more time it will be my last LACM. I hate to say that because I love LACM.
The problem is solved by everyone knowing where to go.
If anyone knows who is in charge of this things please let me know. I fucking plan a route.
And don't give the B.S. about no one leads and everyone does their own thing.
The RWNN is a good example of how to keep these punks in check. If they go past the music or who ever is leading then let them turn around and catch up. If idiots want to follow them, then let 'em
wow the CM ride was hell we were going in circles for a while......it was chill until we hit the 7/11 and headed up hill ...I think what should have been done is everyone should have followed the music and the guy with the music should have stopped every 15min for at least 30secounds so everyone could catch up. also some one should have posted the stops that were made...oh and fuck the fat bitch that kicked us out of the cvs ...
yo!! does anyone remember dude, high as hell, who ran with us for a few blocks at the begining??!! haha. dude was spaced out, just running like forrest gump!! bunch of ridazz were yellin' "we have a runner, we have a runner"!! super funny!!
FELLAS!! I THINK WE"LL JUST HAVE TO CHALK-UP ALL THE HIGH JINKS AS A RESULT OF THE FULL MOON!! cause it was nutty out last night mane!!
That night of critical mass I went to a store by San Pedro & Washington and I saw a fellow cyclist. He was pulling a music trailer down washington on the side walk, all by himself. Hope he got home safe that neighborhood isnt a good one to be at late at night. It was a cool sight though he was pulling his music trailer and had the music at full blast.
I was in the back of the pack because I was with a friend who isn't comfortable on her bike yet, and when we called our friends to find out where the pack had gone, we discovered both of them were in separate packs, and neither of them were with the main pack... so within two hours there were already four packs.
When we turned off La Cienega onto Fountain (I think? I don't know that area well enough) was where I had the best/worst time. I was already separated from all my friends and the pack I was with got harassed really, really hard by several cars in a row that almost hit lots of bikes. Drivers honking and cussing, not pretty. I was proud though because I told some dudes in a car to calm down and they did.
Anyway, I am fighting a flu but I wanted to go because it was my first LACM, and overall it was worth it to go out. I somehow had a good time.
To all the people who are riding from rallies in Glendale at 6ish to LACM the Glendale ride is not going to it we will be doing or own thing from 8 pm and so forth if you want to meet their and ride to LACM go ahead and do so and be sure of the times but the orignal Glendale ride will NOT be going thank you and all of your are welcomed to join our ride this Friday meet 8 at rallys roll out 9-915
Don't follow the music trailer and don't follow the rules they laid out.
Critical Mass has no rules.
You ride as long or short as you want and you can leave whenever you want.
There WAS a music trailer but the ride left way ahead of it up Western. This happened literally 2 minutes after Big Bike Dan made a strong plea to the riders to stay behind the music.
what's up with the "All Night Long" listing saying this:
---------># Watch for people trying to hijack the ride to the East<----------
Whoever hijacks the ride is getting HIT BY MY BAT. So watch out you stupid little kids from the east, west, north, and south. Don't fuck it up for others or I WILL CRACK YOU.
"Whoever hijacks the ride is getting HIT BY MY BAT. So watch out you stupid little kids from the east, west, north, and south. Don't fuck it up for others or I WILL CRACK YOU"
only someone like you would say that

Problem with that statement is that there are too many hijackers to deal with.
Instead of taking the bat to their heads, the best way to deal with them would be to either throw them off course to where they get lost and never seen again, or do like the old SnS rides/current RWNN and point them out for a public besmirching.
Essentially, ride-hijackers are either too oblivious to thinking they are one, or too afraid to draw attention to themselves.
No what they mean is hijack this fuckn ride and try to fuckn end it at the piece of shit peoples ride!... well i dont give a fuck any more im tired of all the stupid kids and the ride being short and always going to people ride and always going the same fuckn routes the same stop the same bullshit!...!

You gotta admit the lacm in last June was pretty cool. There weren't alot of shitheads. Just give it time. The whole fixed gear/ bicycle trend will go awayy and only the true Ridazz will stay.
Imma stop going on LACM. Friday might be my last one. From there on only GLENDALE or MoM Ridaz. I'm getting sick of assholes cutting me off and such sorts.
Look out for the excited ones (kids) that can't hold their lines, corking intersections, and riding on the left...those are the hijackers. veteran riderz know the dealio..

The problem with LACM is its got too many people. Like hundreds and hundreds. So with that kind of crowd, you are gonna get kids that don't know how to ride. Yeah, we can complain and shit, but what does that do? Hundreds more will show up and ride, whether you do the ride or not. I ride it and yell at the kids to hold their line, slow down, and stop skidding. Some listen, some don't. You can't control everyone. It ain't Nazi Germany, everyone is free to be an asshole. I do this ride whenever I can because it is the only ride that has tons of girls. No other ride attracts so many females. I wonder why?
As far as the People's ride. No one is forcing anyone to go. The riders do what they want. Critical Mass has no rules. So by saying it should have rules is kind of foolish.
HELL YEAH DUDE
THIS IS THE ONLY RIDE WHERE THE POON TURNS UP
IT'S CRITICAL POON
I AM DEFINETELY GONNA BE THERE
I'LL ALSO SMACK THE SHIT OUT OF ANY STUPID KID
WHO TRIES TO HIJACK THE RIDE
SO YOU STUPID BREAKLESS KIDS NEED TO RESPECT YOUR ELDERS
it didn't rain. the ride stopped at lights which allowed all the riders to regroup. there were a few insanely pissed off screaming drivers which is always hilarious. and m-80s in the tunnel. last night was awesome.
How was February critical mass..had to miss out that day my bikes in a bad condition..what's it good like last months even though the route was sketchy....
