Bike District Community Sign

This is a little cause that I've been trying to take up for a while now. I'm sure you've all seen the different community signs around L.A. that tell you what neighborhood you're in, why isn't there one at Melrose + Heliotrope proclaiming it as the bike district? I think the old tires on the street sign outside of Orange 20 do a pretty good job of that, but a formal blue and white sign would look so great over there. In this car-obsessed city, it would be great to have just a little space that's for cyclists. I think the sign could say "Bike District, Share the Road" or something like that. The process of getting a community sign seems pretty easy, the only thing is that the interested parties would have to fund its installation. If you're like me, I'm sure there's other things you need to spend your money on, but I still think it would be great to see this happen. I'm a big picture guy, and I haven't really thought out the details yet, but I want to see if anyone would actually be interested in this.
