has anybody seen the la-area rivers and creeks recently? i haven't had a chance to check em out but i remember in the '05 rain storms that shit was like a crazy overflowing torrent. i wouldn't be surprised if it's like that now

this drainage ditch is like 20 or 30 feet deep, you can see in this pic it's only a few feet away from spilling over into the bike path =)

The Mojave River actually looks like a river again.
That and some dumbshit kids had to be rescued from near a drainage tunnel in downtown Victorville.

so i checked out the creek at duquesne ave. and they had the bike path closed! the fence was locked so i jumped and proceded to ride west but right after that little uphill after getting on the path at duquesne, there was ANOTHER fence on the path. i wonder what happened there? i've never seen the duquesne exit closed

I rode up the San Gabriel River bike path this morning, from Cypress to Whittier.
Most of the gates are still locked and there's mud, junk and water in many of the underpasses.
I sure hope there are plans and money to clear them out soon.

I have no idea who has jurisdiction over the trails, but they are maintained well, and SOMEBODY comes out every time it rains and locks the gates!
