"A little perspective. That's it. I'd like some fresh, clear, well seasoned perspective. Can you suggest a good wine to go with that? ....Very well. Since you're all out of perspective and no one else seems to have it in this BLOODY TOWN, I'll make you a deal. You provide the food, I'll provide the perspective, which would go nicely with a bottle of Cheval Blanc 1947"

Just wanted to say, sometimes in the forum discussions, when we highlight the "kids" or types of riders who are ruining rides, we lose sight of the hundreds (basically the majority) of riders who do make the rides great.
I think its a matter of perspective.
I suggest stop focusing on the knuckleheads who we think are "potentially" ruining rides. Keep in mind the many more people who are doing it right. Let the retards be retards. Sure a few dumb-asses can ruin something about a ride, but there are some fundamentals to keep the ride on track, which has been going on for years.
Id like to say two things to keep in mind:
1. On many rides, announce to the crowd not to go ahead of the leaders. If they're new, its on them.... you're not their babysitter. These are adults and older teens. Don't feel like you need to parent the riders.
2. The ride leader(s) should have fun too. Fuck this babysitting crap. Why should leaders need to create a barrier, wear flags, or act like everyone in the group is on a 3rd grade field trip -- BULLSHIT. Again, its not the ride leaders job to be a babysitter. The attendees are at a free event, with no security, so they need to be responsible for themselves.
So, overall, I wanted to give props to all the riders who have and are making MR rides fun, and worth the work these ride leaders have put in for like 5 years now. In fact if it wasn't for the rides being composed of mostly mature riders, there wouldn't be all these rides.
In the same way we can fear a few jackasses ruining a ride, lets not let a few jackasses ruin our perspective about what hundreds of other rides ARE doing right.
peace... time to sell my soul to the office again.
