CycloCPU no do math

I am having a hard time understanding what my CPU is telling me. I have been wondering about the crap numbers it's been giving me for some time.
Last night I rode 19 miles. The CPU agrees with GoogleMaps that it was a 19 mile ride.
The ride took me 75 minutes. The CPU agrees with my watch / cell phone that it took 75 minutes (1.25 hours).
So, if anything I learned in math and physics is correct, [average] speed equals distance over time. That would be 19 / 1.25, which comes out to (I'm double-checking here) 15.2mph average speed over the 19 miles. That feels and sounds about right to me at my current skill level.
So why does my CPU give me an average speed of 13.8? It has been giving me avg speeds lower than they should be consistently since I bought the thing. But the distance and time are correct. WTF?? Time for new CPU? I know I'm not THAT slow of a rider because I haven't been dropped on a ride... ... .... yet.

Was there time where you were stopped or took a break? 0 mph for a few min might effect your average speed.

In this particular case there were no stops (I got lucky at some lights, timed others, and spent lots of time on bike paths). Regardless, I normally use total elapsed time
including time stopped at lights, so I should be getting a worst case scenario anyway, right? And to add further regardlessness, the CPU knows to stop its trip timer when it sees a speed of zero for a few seconds, and I've verified that it actually does this.

I would love to some day, but with an avg spd of 15mph that puts me at least 7mph under where I need to be to keep up with them, from what I hear. And they ride twice as far, too. So... I have a long, long way to go before I'm at that level, but I'm working on it... I want to join the next All City Race, too (just for funzies, no real hope of winning).

nahhh if you can average 17 solo, you're good.

sounds like you just didnt reset your computer. 2 mph discrepancy in 75 min is a pretty big gap.

So I only got 2mph to make up then!! Woo!!
It shouldn't matter if I forgot to reset the CPU. Even if I rode four rides and never reset it, and it said 60 miles and it took me 4 hours, that should be an average speed of 15mph. But the CPU will tell me somewhere in the mid / high 13's. Eh... I'm over it. I can just do the math.
