Just wanted to say thanx to everyone for showing up and grilling with us. The games were plentiful, and so was the food. Im so happy to see how far all the 818ers have come since starting a little over a year ago. As though Sunday was the dawn of an Epoch, marked by a visit from one of the most legendary figures in the sport, Doug D. And we were all hanging with him. Glad to see a loose tooth didnt keep the baddest bitch in all of Los Angeles from playin polo... Glad to see Ace get a few games in between keepin his dozen girlfriends company in the stands... Vadim even showed up and looked good... David and Too $hort were their usual selves... Tyrone Biggums beat most of the LA A-line... again! Mark even scored a goal! NoLa repped it hard as usual, showing some true grit, and the cutest puppy... And Gabby dumped off a few ski poles, which perfectly complimented that stash of corruplast we're all gonna use for wheel covers, whew it felt like it was my birthday this weekend what more can I say?!?!!??

I picked up some black pvc, the smaller size with some caps. The caps are the same diameter as the normal mallet heads. my question is this: do people ever put caps on the larger pvc heads? I put some on my mallet at home depot and it just looked obnoxious and felt too heavy.

ABS- PVC is white and shatters. Now, the 1.5" variety, the stuff most of the 818ers use with caps I feel is the best balance between performance and weight. 2" with caps is doable, but heavier, which sacrifices the smaller, more technical moves of the mallet. IF yer really hooked on 2" pipe, lookup Total polo labs, run by some good friends of mine.

OK I figgered it out. Since I won't be here this weekend, its up to the serfs of the Polo Kingdom to run the joint. As Viceroy, I third the nomination of Jeremy. He has shown the guts, the passion, and the shot quality necessary to run 818 Bike Polo. Not to say Pistolero and Tyrone Biggums aren't worthy, but consistently NOLOVE has shown he has much love for Polo and he's never late. And he always stays til the end. Hey gang. Just got back into town. The worlds in Philly were sick. Got seeded 4th out of 48 on the first day, beating Doug D's team, and Hero Squad from MKE, as well as Mark Capriotti/Chris NYC's team. Such achievements surely overshadow the fact my bike got jacked and my phone broke again. Well that and the fact they took up a roughly $450 collection to get both my bike and the other one that got jacked replaced. Oh and Seabass won the MVP award which was a Soma Rush frame, so he gave that to me 2 seconds after it was presented to him. Im gonna sell that cuz its too small, so if anyone needs a nice white 56cm track frame with no fork get at me...

Excellent! Yeah Friday Nigh Lights Polo is the best. So nice to play so many games. I think last night we played one game to 25 points it was awesum. Good way for beginners to check out the game too. LBC has a game. Many, many players, and hangers on. They also bring their own lights so they can play as late as they want. Hopefully we see them again soon. Joey, your InterBike court looks pretty sweet. Wish I could get out there to play. But I don't mind settling for the new FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS !!!! Good games today fer sher! lotsa players makin progress, and the A-squad was on top of their game thru-out day! The best game was playin with Vad & Jimmy - "there's no one to worry about, actually," vad sez - then we shut em' out!!

Thur nite polo could majorly benefit from having a spare mallet or two. MAJORLY. There's peeps coming out to play, but now & then we're short a mallet, which can be a major bummer.
Have ski poles, can share once mallets are made. Did Alfredo ever make that pretty pink ski pole of his into a mallet? Once I get down to this project, I can put 'em all together at once.
