Just FYI...There's some smokin' deals at Sierra Trading Post on SIDI shoes, both road and mtn. Like try $135 for the Genius 5! Retail is usually $230.
Just got me the Dominator 5 for mtn.

I concur! That's the website I bought my SIDI Genius 5.5 (Womens) shoes... and they're worth every penny!

Yeah, I've got the Genius 5 as my road shoes. Love them so much I had to get the Dominator mtn version. Plus, the sole is falling off my old mtn bike shoes. That $135 price is ridiculous.

dumb shoe question: can you ride sidi shoes with speedplay pedals? i mean, do sidi have a cleat for speedplay.
argh you know what i mean. let me go shoot my other foot.

Speedplay are 4 hole pattern, while sidi shoes have a 3 hole pattern.
So no, it wouldn't work. Not out of the box, at least.

But what I meant to say is that there is an adpater plate out there somewhere that can probably help you.

I have sidi road shoes with speedplay, and it has a plate adapter that attaches to the 3 hole pattern, and the rest of the cleat attaches to it.

kyber you lie! i have speedplays and SIDIs...
(on that website it says the 3-hole ones are a new item... i must have the old item... so what does that mean? 4 holes? 2 holes? well, however many holes it is, I have speedplay cleats on em.

It's a shoe, not a hat, Franz. Try putting it on your foot. It should be plenty wide.

I wish I hadn't read this thread, since I had to buy at that price.
I got the Dominators. I already have mountain shoes, but it's nice to spread the wear over two shoes.

damn. the shoes were too big. looks like the only other ones I can get are the road shoes in my size... which are only available in 3 hole mount. is that something to be wonderous about? which is better? the 2 hole or 3 hole?

i got the dominator 5's in 39.5 and my toes sometimes hit the edge but i don't think they will when i ride. i'm crossing my fingers and will try them out and see. they were on sale but not available in 40.

they are beautiful. any suggestions for a good insole? the insoles in them now are hard as rocks- do they serve a purpose being that hard?

yeah i know they do but these seem to fit. i'll find out for sure later.

The insoles will break in a bit after some riding and soften up, also the shoe will stretch out a bit to fit your foot better. Give them a couple weeks of solid riding and if the insole still bothers you go to REI and get some
super feet insoles they're expensive, but worth the money.
You actually want the shoes to be fairly solid so that they effectively transfer your energy to the bike, remember, you're not *supposed* to ever walk around in them... these are *bike* shoes.
