Ah, and yet the recidivism rates under
Arpaio are
no lower than they were under his predecessor.
The "America's toughest sheriff" schtick plays well with the (fearful and vindictive) public, but it doesn't do a damned thing to affect inmates' tendency to re-offend once they're released.

Most of these inmates were likely screwed up from the get-go.
Kids having kids, lineage of irresponsibility, .etc
At least there the victim who properly defends themself won't be detained or charged with anything.
