FMLY was no CRANK MOB but it was still very fun!!!

Just want to say thanks to eveyone for the FMLY EASTSIDE. Despite some very last minute changes it was still very fun. We had a pretty cool crowd that was just going with the flow. Maybe on the next one we actually stop at TOW that place seems like a fun place for a break and music.
Although I must admit not having that stop made this ride even better, we had more riding time which is always a good thing. It make me feel like I got a good work out.
BIG thanks to Juaquin for playing some very cool tunes for us at graffiti alley. My new Favorite song is CUTE.
I look forward to the next FMLY...

does anybody know where i can find juaquins music? i really really enjoyed him..... his singing reminds me a lot of thom yorke. i want to give him props for being so last minute and having the courage to play music that a lot of the 'hipsters' who come on the rides probably aren't into. but it was beautiful

There were a lot of similarities though. It was a night of total fun and love! We had a decent turnout, about 40 people at the start. As we were rolling, the cops showed up and to our surprise, they were cool! They wished us a safe ride over their loudspeaker, and furthermore, as we all hesitated to roll out, they said that if we roll out now, we would not be enforced! How cool is that! Several people yelled out "thanks!" and I heard someone yell out "how come you guys are bieng so nice?" The cop just smiled and rolled on by!
We did do more riding than anticipated, but I think that worked out for the best. We had made a concerted effort to communicate no taggin, no stealing, no getting so wasted that you ride down the wrong side of the street. Props to MOM Ridazz for contributing their numbers and their presence helps keep people in check.
After riding thru downtown LA at night (and you gotta admit, the view of dtla at night just rocks!) the only stop we took was at a Ralphs near where Pico and Venice almost run into each other. I was bummed at first, because when we showed up, the manager wanted to shut down the doors...She asked me if we were "that MOB group!" and I said no, we are FMLY and this is our first stop here. I stayed by the door to help keep an eye out, everyone was cool and there were no troubles. I checked in with the manager and the prime example of love was this...the lady that wanted to shut us out at first, tells me as we were leaving "have a safe ride, sweetie. Thaks for being cool with my store!" This lady rocks!
We all benefit from this spreading of love. Not only us as ridazz but also the biking community and lastly the city as a whole. Seems to me that both Crank Mob and FMLY had about the same amount of people, we were both spreading the fun around LA without pissing off anyone. We had no disrespect for either Native Americans, or caucasians. When both sides met, the hooting and hollering gave me goose bumps and we sparked up the energy in a big way. I loved looking around, I did not see Cowboys or Indians, I saw what looked like the United Colors of Benetton! To see a guy in a chicken outfit, jumping rope is just funny! The Red Rover game showed it best...We had an Indian in a head dress, holding hands with a girl in a cowboy hat holding hands with a guy in a trechcoat, next to a girl who looked like she was from Ethiopia in her elegeant facial features, next to another girl looking Westside fashionable in her boots with fringes....total diversity on down the line, all laughing, dancing, jumping into the night.
I hope next time our rides are not on the same night, I would like to go to Crank Mob too, but after the great ride we had on Saturday, I think it would be great to all ride together, we are all ridazz after the same goal. Can you imagine the possbilities?
C.R.A.N.K Mob: Hey there, what's your name?
FMLY: What's up big boy, what's your sign?
Epic fun would ensue....

Hey there,
I got Juaquin's number, email me I'll give it to you. I think I totally butchered his name.
By the way I agree, I thought his music was pretty cool...For sure the song CUTE was my favorite. I know guys are not into romance too much, but you play that song for a girl and you'll have her melting...you may even score.

YAYAYAY! I'm so glad to hear that the FMLY love made it to the eastside. CRANK MOB and FMLY will meet soon! Thanks to everyone who was respectful of stores and people. The best thing we can do is make it so no one can resist the love. See you guys April 3rd!

i met up with the east side FMLY and there was a great vibe with everybody. i was really impressed with how much everyone participated in the "no rida left behind", especially for a party ride. the energy really popped once we met up with the westside FMLY. the games at the park were really fun and organized too, nothing says fun like pinatas filled with condoms and candy. great ride great people great nite
