i'm not even talking to you, i'm talking about the wrong usage of the wrong word for the title of this thread. Cell is barely a ho
mophone(take that censor) to Sale, closer to sell, and THATS wrong.

Yeah, I thought this guy was wanting to trade a bike for a cell phone.

well all you have to do is read the post and you know what he is trying to 'cell'
but anyways if anyone is done being grammatically clever do you think a cannondale caad4 frame for $85 is good? ive been riding my mountain bike on all these rides and i want to switch to a road bike to give it a try.

are you planning on using your mtb parts for the transfer?
if so, dont waste your money.
just put that $85 in a savings and wait til you have a few more $85 to spare.
then get yourself a complete/used road bike

no way...i've put money and time into the mountain bike...
i just want a road bike to start building on and just trying out a new kind of bike, always rode mtn bikes :) I have had that mtn bike since 1999...i'm attached to an inanimate object, ha!

then i'll just give you my opinion...
I wouldn't pay $85 for that frame. I'd pay $20 bucks if I had most of the parts laying around. But i would not start from scratch with a frame like that...
whats wrong with the bike you have? if you love it, then keep riding it. Keep saving your money until you can buy the bike you really need. In a year, you might realize you need a long-haul trucker with front and rear panniers.
patience.
but i know how you feel. I look at bike parts everyday.

dang are the frames that bad? 20 bucks?? lol
nothing is wrong with my bike, just want to try something different.

whats great about it?
why is worth $85?
someone wants to make a little money off a frame with "CANNONDALE" on it. Think about it this way.... in 2007 the complete bike, which from the pics looks to be in nice shape, was selling on MR for $300
Youre thinking of buying a frame for almost 1/3 of the complete bike.
Unless you want to spend countless hours building an old bike that is NOT a collectors item, save a couple hundred bucks and wait for a complete bike.
thats all... in the end, its up to you.

by countless hours.. i figured you're going to look for deals on all the parts, or else, youre just putting way too much into this project

so what makes it similar is that its a cannondale?
the ad looks sketchy... "I want this gone".
Im not interested in promoting the purchase of stolen bike crap...
supposing its not stolen, the guy is desperate, so just tell him you'll show up right now with $40. i hope you're tall, and the bike does not appear to have horizontal dropouts.
I think this completes the thread, dont you think?

Yup that's why I asked on here. Thanks for the input. All I needed was a second opinion since i don't know too much of this. I had a feeling it might have been stolen. Anyhow gracias amigo.
