How can one be a veteran of a fad they never participated in?

the general cycling fad ... you've been in it to win it way longer than most.
on the other hand, your irrational hatred of street fixies is clearly based on prejudice, ignorance.
Its clear that you your dedication to Hipsterdom has left you with an overwhelming desire to dis-associate with certain sub-cultures whom use a and increasingly popular mode of transportation that is very similar, yet distinct to the one you prefer, thus bringing your interests dangerously close to being considered mainstream and threatening your status as an Hipster.
Fight on grrrl.

Riding a bike doesn't make you a hipster - riding a fixie in tight pants does. There's a difference between a bike rider and a hipster. I am the former. I didn't even know what a hipster was prior to moving to LA.

This couldn't be farther from the truth. Simply because I have a strong, negative opinion towards something makes me ignorant? Please. How could I have been riding for so long and be IGNORANT about fixed gears? I've ridden them, I've spoken with people who ride them, and ride with people who ride them. The more I learn about it, the
more I think they belong on tracks.
The fact that fixed gears and the hipsters who ride them are so easy to make fun of is just icing on the cake.
You're displaying to me the typical skewed sense the Ridazz have of the cycling world as a whole and your attempts at criticizing my viewpoints only solidifies your own status as hipster.

Srsly.
I guess trying really hard to be cool by "not" being cool makes people hot? Um, you know, because of all the exertion?
That was so much funnier in my head. Kbye.

that comment was great.
Let me try it with mountain bikes.

Wow... so "track bike" wasn't enough? You had to do more research?
But why isn't the same attitude directed to other bikes that are clearly not being used for their marketed purposes? And who gives a shit? I see hipsters in all their theatrical clothing daily, but what they wear has nothing to do with me getting laid, so who gives a fuck?

Trenchant analysis, Trickmilla. It has seemed to be the case for quite some time now (ever since the genesis of Hipster Runoff maybe?) that making fun of hipsters / worrying about who is a hipster tends to be a pretty good indicator of a hipster. Frankly, I think most people just don't give a fuck, and only hipsters care about distancing themselves from that perception.
Actually, I don't even know what it means any more. The term is so over used that it has lost all meaning.
