So like I went on your ride and tell me why I was handcuffed for 3hrs? You guys didnt have to hit the 7 eleven guy? he was simply standing in front of the door to keep the thiefs from running away.
Unfortunately there are opportunists everywhere and some people will use the guise of bike riding to take advantage and steal from stores. They, like bullies, do it in numbers. Alone they are worthless but in quantity they feel powerful.
So are you saying someone hit a worker at a 7-11???? What the hell is that all about? I cannot imagine a reason why anyone would have justification to hit someone working there. NO CIRCUMSTANCES!!!
OK OK in all fairness, people say this has only happened twice now (i would like to disagree).
Do you remember the stolen front wheel involving k-town? I do.
Do you remember the taco Tuesday incident involving k-town? I do.
Do you remember the stolen lights (at least 3 different incidents) involving k-town? I do.
Over and over again it has been shown that not only do they steal bikes, but then proceed to re-paint / repair and sell them.
Now they pull this, and people are like, "they are good kids, dude, they don't steal and tag and do stupid shit THAT much..."
Leaving aside the fact that the first time I rode into k-town they acted like a street gang, they don't give a shit about our community when they act like this.
They steal from other ridazz. (not a new FACT to anyone here, is it?)
They repeatedly steal from our booze stops and get us banned.
You are stereotyping witch is unfair ... Not everyone is a bad seed ... Like I said everyone has a different experience.. I'm not saying everyone is a saint on the ride ... what I am saying is not everyone falls in to the category ... of stereotypical Ktown rider...you have described ..
I grew up in K-town since 89. Quite place and was once proud to say I was from there. Now I see all this kids around my block stealing, tagging and it sucks because they really need to understand that shit is not cool. I never did that when I was younger, I never went around with my friend’s destroying your property. Have some more pride.

hell no, Im trying to make a pont that is to grow up! im not 12 and when I was i never made "my raza " look bad. I grew up in ktown went to school from kinder to high there and know whats up. So just dont make your self look bad:)
It can't get much clearer than saying "FUCK YOU", "K-TOWN FOR LIFE", and throwing glass bottles towards ridazz.
Oh yeah, and right after that warned everyone to check their bikes;
Lights were missing from a bike right next to where the guys were posted up.
This happened while only a few OG heads and that small group of K-town ridazz were at c-mob park. Nobody else therehad left, and nobody else there would want to steal from a fellow rida. Cut and dry. Anyone there knows how obvious it.
I am sure some of the people are great, friendly, intelligent people. Possibly even the majority. Mob mentality can have a huge impact on young men especially. It can turn people who would do good OR bad to either. This can make great things (think bike town beta, bike art shows) or monsters (robbing and beating a 7-11 store owner, the HUGE rash of bike thieves..).
It can ruin rides. One damaging ride can hurt the whole community. If your ride is out of control, you get it under control. Just like rides have done in the past.
If your ride fucks up at booze stops, don't stop for booze. Let's make this thing better, not worse.

My first ride ever on MR was K-Town. Half the group ended up bum rushing two 7-Eleven's on the westside that night. The second K-Town ride I went on they got into two fights in the middle of the street and more than half bum rushed a 7-Eleven in Silverlake. I saw people come out with sandwiches, drinks, and what not. I even saw a guy come out with 6 Lunchables not even trying to hide it. To each his own but I haven't been back since. I just think there are better rides to attend on Wednesday that aren't so controversial in that aspect. I've already counted the bricks inside of a jail cell twice already and I'm not going in for a 3rd time for other people jacking and shit. After all, when the cops get a call for people on bikes jacking stores, they just end up profiling anybody on a bike whether you did something or not. In a cops eyes everyone is a suspect until proven otherwise. Yeah I'm paranoid about the cops but I've been illegally searched, harassed, and put in the back of squad cars too many times to count. Honestly, if I had to make an estimated guess, at least 4-5 dozen times in the past 6 years, so nearly once a month ever since I got out of HS in '03 and you know what its gotten real old by now. I'm pretty sure there are some people that feel the same about not going to K-Town that's had my experiences with the cops and is currently bettering themselves to provide a chill and peaceful lifestyle. I'm not saying don't go to K-Town since we all have our own free will but just be careful out there guys, everyone can be touched... this isn't Grand Theft Auto where you can do and get away with whatever you want, well maybe it can be but your definitely not getting to the sixth star I can guarantee you that.
This is a great example of someone who made bad choices while they where young ... but wait .. grew up and knows ..wait there are consequences .. Thank You for sharing this ..

.... anyways, to answer some of the questions, yes last week was one of the most stupidest things i have ever witnessed at ktw. shit, even i got a ticket for no front light :(
..but i didnt post the ride this wednesday because im tired of all the stupid little kids that come and fuck the ride up. im not going to ride tonight because im pretty certain theyre going to show up. let them figure out what to do on their own. fuck baby sitting, fuck having to hide from cops when you personally havent done shit, fuck all the dumb little kids (some of them not so small), but fuck them! they dont love riding, they look at rides as an excuse to hide under the groups and steal shit.. ive seen instances where they jack liqour for a party next day! WTF!
anyways.... i think im going to push off for no more beer stops since fools cant control their hormones.. they want beer, they can get it in their own damn time!

glendale pd just had us sit on the curb, took everyones info and description then they let us go. All the minors were let go, only the "adults" stayed. I think only two people got tickets that night.

seriously man..... even MY only ktown experience was ruined with store jackings, it made me not want to come back again. if i hear that leaders are actually enforcing no stealing then i'm definitely down to come ride again

A lot of kids go through that shoplifting lawless phase in their lives. It doesn't matter if ur poor or rich or what color you are. It's an adolescent thing... It's the rebellious way It's timeless. But somen kids can't contain themselved in the interest of keeping these group rides from being harassed by cops, keeping a clean rep for bike riders so we CAN have some fun in the streets without the cops profiling groups rides. this wonderful unique to LA atmosphere we've all worked so hard to develop in this most unlikely city on earth.
That's not nice.
Glendale PD sucks. Had a ride a couple of years ago. Group went to a park, got on the swings, BOOM! 8 squad cars and a Helicopter. Sat us down and told us "We don't want Cyclist here."
Mind you, this group was made up mostly of older, caucasian, hippy/hipster types.

Let's organize a charity event and see if k-town ridaz can hold their shit together and not fuck it up.
I think if some of the new heads see how much fun the positive community centered rides and events are, they might be inspired to move on from the stealing and bullshit..... maybe.... hopefully....
