Insurance Appraisal Question...

Hey guys. New Here. I got hit by a car in March; totalled the bike, I had some injuries, etc... Typical BS; Latina wasn't watching the road on Pico and took me out in broad daylight.
After some back and forth, I just got a letter yestrday from the insurance company (State Farm Insurance) that they are accepting liability.
I spent a week out of work, and they are covering my income from the missed time.
They also said that my bike would be covered as well. The thing is, this is a full custom build off of a Cervelo frame.
I need to get an appraisal value for a new custom built bike. Does anyone know where I can go to get the bike appraised? They are also getting me a new helmet, shoes, and the clothes that were all road-rashed and shit...
Any referral to a quality appraiser would be invaluable. Do I need to have it appraised at a shop that sells Cervelos?
Any tips in dealing with the insurance company would also be much appreciated...
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

Go to Helens Cycles (I Martin too). Make sure you have photos of the parts on the bike, unless you still have the parts... itemize everything. Have the shop co-sign your pricing.
Dealing with insurance... dont take the first offer. They purposely low ball you.... they don't expect you to take things to trail and they dont want to pay the expense of trial.
You're likely going to compromise on way or another...
maybe others have better suggestions
good luck...

I'm sure you didn't mean its typical for a "latina" to not watch the road. This person just so happened to be a latina, right?

No No No, don't get me wrong. I was saying typical for a Latin(a), meaning WOMAN driver. Not a racist joke, but a sexist one... I think she was on her phone, and she pulled out of the parking lane abruptly, hitting me on the right and throwing me into traffic, where the bike was run over by her and a truck.
Sorry for the ugly comment. No offense intended. I'll try to be more PC here in the future.

When dealing with insurance companies make sure you get the actual claim number when you talk to them, document everything and if they start to low ball you, get a lawyer.
