You get alot of these kids from quiet, MidWestern areas that move out to coastal cities for the "it" factor.
They arrive in droves and begin to change the landscape for those that were there before them in a multitude of ways.
Driving rents up, displacing long-time residents to boonie-areas like I live in.
Essentially the stereotypical hipsters are the ones who tend to embrace their newfound home-life, a little too flamboyantly.
And then there's CA suburban dwellers trying to re-terraform small, Mountain-states towns to the strip-mall/tract home/car-centric format, but we'll leave that for the citydata.com forums.
