Not only is John Wooden one of the greatest coaches in history but he's also a very inspirational man! I honestly believe that aside from his great talent as a coach his continuous positivity is what earned in 10 NCAA Championships in 12 years (7 of which were in a row!). And yet he was able to maintain his modesty, something everyone can learn from, not just athletes. Thanks for sharing this Brad :D
Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.
John Wooden
Compassion, discipline and never ending optimisim is what makes this man one of my biggest role models (aside from my parents). In a time where kids idolize celebrities and sports players who make millions and abuse substances John Wooden was a modest man who was just blessed to have what he had. As a former Bruin I saw him a handful of times on campus. I didn't know who "that old man" was until my roommate told me that he's the reason almost everything on the campus is named after him. Right away the first thing I noticed about him was the way he interacted with each person whom he encountered. He used the same level of respect, whether 40 or 20 years old. All his words of wisdom will not be forotton.
