Hey guys, haven't posted here before but a couple of you might know me...

Anyway, I was recently mugged in Culver City right around National and Hayden. Nothing much of consequence was stolen from me, except for my bicycle. I've attached a picture of it to this post. It was built up for me from pieces by Jim C of Cranky's in Santa Barbara and formerly of Orange 20 here in town.

sorry to hear, can you give more details on the mugging? did you file a police report? suspect description how many? weapons? get away vehicle?

I live and ride by there all the time. Weird place to get mugged, it seems like a pretty nice little pocket

Yeah, I filed a police report. Props to the Culver City police department, they took the issue very seriously and seemed to be on top of their game when it came to crime in the neighborhood.

Didn't get a good look at the muggers since it happened under the light rail bridge (where you can cut from National to the public park/bike path) and it's super dark there at night, but it was two youngish hispanic dudes. one tall (about 5'10") and one shorter (about 5'7"-5'8"). No weapon, they just grabbed me and took everything in my pockets / bicycle.

this is why you carry a u-lock in your back pocket -- especially if you feel the need to ride in a super dark places in ghetto cities at 12:30am. bike path at that hour? u can hardly see where you're goin' unless you have a rally headlight on your bike.

ride the big streets, it's safer & faster imo.. but i'm sure you already knew that. good luck on recoverin' your bike, although it's doubtful.
