I said the same thing. Even on roads I would never bike on.
The signs are better here too. The bigger and there blue. I'll take a pic of it.

That's cool. I just don't think people understand what "Share the Road" really means. I've had many conflicts with drivers where they say to me, " Can't you read the sign? Get out of the way!". And I say," That's not what the sign means, it means I am allowed to ride in this lane too, read your vehicle code." They insist I am wrong and to get out of the street.
Therefore I think this phrase is ineffective to most people. I think we need to adopt a new slogan instead of share the road. I like "bikes allowed full access of lane." But it needs to be shorter...

Just a graphic of a bike and the words Full Lane Use Allowed would be great.
It's funny, even though Florida has this terrible track record for hit and runs, etc., when I was back home in October (Tampa/Clearwater/St. Pete) and it was my first time back home since going completely car-free, I noticed that they have a lot of bike lanes and signage out. And I mean everywhere. But I guess it goes to show that infrastructure does not make a safe cycling environment--it's only half the piece in the puzzle.
